Will this fit into the fittings used for a model 45?

Yes it will I replaced mine 2 weeks ago and just slotted it into the fitting for the 45Pat

It is suitable for a ceramic sink but you may need to purchase the extended flange depending on your sink

Does it need a air switch

Mine came with an air switch but as I have a switch above the worksurface I did not use it. Unless the model has been revised you don't need the air switch.

I have an old emerson electric model 1-59. is the model 46 the correct replacement ?

Yours is a different model than ours but any model should fit any sink, there all the same size
