Bought one for each for my son and daughter. Both love it, science is now cool!

Purchased a couple of months ago as my daughter put one of these on her birthday list - Well today is that day - Open box and it looks like we're not the first to venture inside the packaging - the lamp is dented, wont turn on and looks like it's second hand - Really disappointed both in the product and for the birthday girl, and the return window is now closed :( - Update: given the lamp was past return, I broke out a heat gun and managed to separate the bottle from the base to reveal the bulb and upon inspection the element had broken - New bulb purchased and lamp now works, but still unimpressed.

Gone through not just one but two of these abd neither of them work. Sent the first one back for an exchange as it wouldn't turn on and then received the second and guess what same issue, wouldn't turn on. It may well be something as simple as needing a bulb change but as you can't separate the glass to get to the bulb you can't change it. A total waste of time, with no way to change the bulb without taking a soldering iron to it, as someone mentioned in another review, you wouldn't be able to change the bulb when it burns out, which they do, even if the thing actually turns up working for you. A total scam and waste of money do not buy whatever the price

Bought for 8 year old daughter. Takes a while to warm up (maybe 15mins?) and then is wonderful as it blobs around. It gets hot, but not unbearable, you could touch it if you had to (but don’t). It’s sturdy and I don’t feel unhappy having it in her bedroom when she jumps around etc. Good value.

I like it very much but out of curiosity I touched it,wow, that’s hot, so don’t touch it after five minutes or so, my fault, I admit, should have had more sense,idiot.

You know, these days when you buy something like this, you think that it's been packaged by a machine, and machines don't forget to include important bits like the cone that goes on the top, or the bulb that they say is included. Hence the reason why I didn't check the contents of the box before it was wrapped and given to a child for their birthday. Yes, the disappointment was not hard to spot. Just very, very poor quality control, or maybe it was returned and these pieces were missing and no-one bothered to check. Whatever it was, it was not good enough. Return and refund please!

Bought for my daughter’s room, looks good however the on off switch is on the underside of the base which is rubbish. Would have liked the on/off switch somewhere more accessible. Does make a little noise but nothing that would keep you awake.
