Rubbish Town Hero Paperback – 29 Mar. 2012

My P7 class have just finished this as a comparative book study (alongside The Child's Elephant). They voted for its star rating, 24 gave it 5/5, 2 gave it 4/5 and 3 gave it 4.5/5. This is what they had to say:Chloe H: "It starts off with Chipo and Gentle working in the rubbish dump. Gentle works washing carrier bags which made us think about the number of bags we waste (especially as they now cost 5p - she got paid 1p for cleaning 100). We follow them on their journey towards a better life, and hope that they can find medical care. I enjoyed this book as it gave me mixed emotions - excitement, sadness, happiness and anger. It was a heart warming book and I hope you enjoy it."Shelly: "I really enjoyed the main characters, understanding how they live their lives, and how they met new friends along their journey. I rated it 4 stars as it was good but not the best one I have read. I encourage more people to read it."Shauntelle: "This book made me realise how different lifestyles are lived. My ten year old is a reluctant reader and prefers comics but something in this book(read as a class story) fired her imagination and age posted me to buy It and considers it a 'must read'.

Dispatched very quickly and arrived long before the arrival date. The book fitted the description and was like new. Clean with no damaged corners or creases. It came packaged in appropriate packaging. I would not hesitate to use this company again.Many thanks!!

I dont like books but this has changed my opinion on them it has a mixture of happy and sad feelings over all 10 out of 10

Lovely book for children letting them see some of the reality for children in the world. I’d recommend for year 6 age children
