Having read some other reviews which said the mat kept falling off I was a bit worried but ordered one anyway. I fitted it with the bolt-on clamp at the front and the hook-on piece at the back and had no problems whatsoever. I've used it a few times now and it's perfectly good for the job, doesn't fall off and hasn't worn much at all. I'd say it's a bit pricey for a piece of rubber with a basic metal clamp at either end, but it was easy to fit and did the job well, so I can't complain.

Some time ago I bought the Evolution electric whacker for various projects as I rebuilt my house. And it's not a bad bit of kit albeit with some issues with loosening handle knobs. However, I now wanted to move on to doing some block paving and of course you need a rubber pad for the whacker and naturally this is the only option for mine so I paid the gouging price for it. And, well? It works just fine. It fits properly which it should given it's for the machine and does a decent job of packing down the blocks without damaging them. The price is a bit stiff for what it is without a doubt and frankly it should be half the price. However, given the options - none - this is what I bought. Bottom line is that this is an essential Evolution add on if you want full use of the machine.

Ideal for the job

Difficult to attach. with the pictures on the packaging, which I’m sure was a previous return due to the crude way it was sealed, I put this on, what looked like, the sensible way and realised it actually attached properly the not so sensible way. I used an impact drill and a spanner to get it as tight as possible and it constantly slid across the wakker plate and if it didn’t slide it would cause the hulk electro to buck and bounce around. If I didn’t have as much to do over a long period it would all have went back and I would have hired a proper one.

So difficult to fit. Finished up getting the final bolt in with the aid of two clamps (to try and hold the stretched pad), a piece of steel rod the same diameter as the bolt and this was forced through the hole in the pad and levered on the edge of the compactor base to stretch the pad before clamping it to the pad with the two clamps. I also filed a small recess in the base to allow the bolt some clearance and a drill the same size as the bolt to drill through the stretched hole. Two hours of my life to fit and have yet to try it with block compaction so cannot comment on its effect.

Arrived on time and as expected

The tool this piece of kit goes with is great. The Hulk Electric compactor works a treat. However, this mat that is supposedly designed to go with it - is not. The problem is the clamps. They aren't a great fit and don't grip the base of the compactor sufficiently. This means while using the tool with the mat - the mat constantly slides sideways forcing you to pause and adjust it every couple of minutes. The only solution was to modify the mat. To do this we drilled holes in the corners and used large, strong cable ties to fix it to the handles. I was really surprised this wasn't designed better as the compactor itself is brilliant.

Ich besitze das neue Modell der Elektro-Rüttelplatte von Evolution, die ich überwiegend für Pflasterarbeiten nutze. Daher musste natürlich auch diese Gummimatte gekauft werden. Optisch und qualitativ macht sie einen guten Eindruck und mit dem passenden Werkzeug ist die Gummimatte auch verhältnismäßig schnell angebracht. Ohne eine helfende Hand ist es allerdings etwas anstrengend. Man muss darauf achten, dass der vordere Teil der Rüttelplatte bündig in dieser Lasche der Gummimatte sitzt. Ich habe die Matte dafür auf den Boden gelegt, die Rüttelplatte mittig darauf gestellt, dann die Platte ein Stück nach vorn gekippt und vorsichtig in die Lasche gleiten lassen. Dann kann man die Rüttelplatte wieder absetzen und alles hinten an der Platte verschrauben. Bei mir sitz die Gummimatte bombenfest und verrutscht beim Arbeiten auch nicht. Für Pflasterarbeiten ist sie das ideale Zubehör und ich kann sie jedem empfehlen.

Fits perfectly and protects pavers from cracking. Solid build, easy to install, does the job well on bricks and flagstones. A must-have if using the Hulk compactor.
