They rock... **Q: is this a sampler as well?** A: Yes. It has both a synth sampler and drum sampler. I think it has a max limit of 12 sec per sample. The drum sampler is a bit fiddly in the beginning but when you get used to it is intuitive. There are good videos of how the sampler works on youtube so I recommend you watch a few of them first.The op-1 has also a FM Radio built in so you can sample stuff from the radio if you so desire, still a 12 sec limit. And you can also sample from your recorder but that is a bit fiddly too, but you can. That makes it possible to create samples within the op-1 it self.In short it's a powerful sampler if you can get past the limitations.Hope this helped.
