I was writing with a pen just a few weeks ago & I had a little trouble spelling the word ‘Business’ I got it after a few moments but it’s a straightforward English word from the language of which I’m fluent! So shock horror when for the life of me I was again writing & I just couldn’t spell ‘Unnecessary’ honestly if my life depended on it I wouldn’t be typing this out now!So I’ve got a large bulky dictionary but I thought of one these smaller ones & I came on Amazon in my time of need, I was really worried & I know that the problem is & it’s blatantly modern technology mainly the mobile phone & with my phone if I actually type out the full word for some reason when I look back upon what I’ve typed it’s gibberish, it makes no literal sense, none at all so I started pressing the prepared words, the assumed / predicted words & it’s just messed with my ability to spell, it’s badly messed with my ability to spell (!) I’ve basically became the generation that I abhor in terms of laziness.Anyway I got the dictionary & the Thesaurus along with the copy of them both together as a joke for my mother who’s spelling has been abysmal way before the “Smart” phone came along.It’s a great fascinating read anyway the dictionary but if you feel yourself leaning on technology more & more on what ‘should be’ simple second nature things like writing & knowledge go back to basics & well this is re-humanising me slowly.
