I started using LED for home lighting years ago when the first bulbs became available and have tracked their progress. To be honest the very early bulbs were not very good but their novelty won me over. The earliest bulbs relied on a forest of small LED’s covering the surface of a GU10 bulb and even then they weren’t particularly bright.Over the years LEDs have improved and the number of LEDs used in a bulb has gone down and down. The previous GU10 bulbs I bought had the number of LEDs down to 15, but this is the first I’ve seen with a single ultra-bright LED. This one delivers a warm white colour.The casing for the bulb is cast metal which makes it strong and provides a heatsink to remove heat from the LED. The light is very bright and the lens focusses the light as a spotlight so it’s ideal for highlighting and area or as part of a multi-light fitting.I’ve included some pictures that show a comparison to the previous GU10 bulbs I used.
