REUNION It's been six years since that summer adventure when Taichi Yagami and the rest of the DigiDestined crossed over to the Digital World. And nearly three years have passed since the final battle between Hikari Yagami's group and BelialVamdemon. As the peaceful days passed by, at some point the gate to the Digital World closed. Not even the DigiDestined know what caused this, and time alone continues to pass. Special Features: - Interviews with Members of the English Voice Cast - A Look at the Reunion US Premiere

Fantastic trip down memory lane
The movie itself is a huge nostalgia trip, yet you can clearly tell that the direction they wanted to take the characters in reflects the jump in age of the original audience. For example (to my dismay at first) the original "Digivolution Rap" is gone during Digivolution; however is replaced with a new, albeit slow and repetitive when back-to-back, enhanced transition. Also, the character's motivations and personality reflect more adult themes such as stress, romance and trying to find a place in the world. Although the pacing on the film in my opinion felt like going from 0-60mph in a few seconds occasionally, I really enjoyed it. There are some new characters that both are interesting new additions yet leave a lot of mystery around them. The original voice cast work brilliantly alongside some of the newer talent (the voice actors for Matt, Gatomon and Joe for example all have new actors and they work really well); however it is lovely to hear the old voices again! This film also acknowledges and leaves room to explore how the events so far effect the DigiDestined from Adventures 02 (specifically Davis, Yolei, Cody and Ken) in future instalments. The Blu Ray box is masterfully put together from first glance - artwork on the outer sleeve is beautiful; which is replicated in the case once removed. Inside is a single Blu Ray disc containing the feature length film, as well as two special features involving premiere footage and behind the scenes interviews with the English dub case. Inside the case is a poster featuring Tai and Matt (I only know the English character names!) on Omnimon battling Alphamon; as well as a wonderful plastic envelope containing four top-quality card prints of various Digimon Adventures Tri: Reunion characters and settings. This is a must have item for any fan of the original Digimon Adventures 01 and 02 series. I can't wait to see where it goes from here!*I would just like to point out that this Blu Ray edition has both the English dub with the majority of the original cast, as well as the original Japanese voicework on a separate audio stream; despite only listing in the description as Japanese on this page at the time of the review.

Wroth the agonising wait!
After months and months of waiting for this and several push backs to the release i was so excited to finally have the English dub version in my possession!I watched the original Japanese version out of pure impatience of waiting for the dub, and the theme and tone is pretty much exactly the same, whilst a little slow it does what it needs to do and re-introduces us to the characters and sets up the bigger picture at hand, as it stands 4/6 parts of this story has been released and it just keeps getting better after this part with the action and story picking up the pace.it was incredibly nostalgic to hear most of the original voice cast back the only thing i will say is they all sound obviously older which is natural for the characters but don't expect them to sound exactly the same as they did in the TV dub most notably Kari, Sora & Mimi sound different but still somehow the same. The blu-ray set itself is lovely! very high quality and comes in a card slipcase with a reversible cover featuring the original Japanese poster and 4 art cards featuring some of the promotional art from japan. My only complaint would be that the UK release does not contain a UV copy of the film like the american release as of now Determination (part 2 of this 6 part adventure) has a American release of august 15th no word yet on a UK release but i hope its just as soon i can't stand to wait another 6/7 months for the next partdefinitely a must see for fans of the old and the new Digimon I'm predicting by this time next year their will be a 6 disc box set though (theirs always something else to buy haha)

As much a reunion for the digidestined as it is for the viewer!
Digimon Adventure Tri - Reunion is a sequel to the original Digimon Adventure & Digimon Adventure 02 but focuses on the original 8 digidestined (Tai, Matt, Sora, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, TK & Kari) with the 02 cast only briefly mentioned.Reunion is aimed at all the Digimon fans who were kids when the orinal series aired and are now grown up.The plot reflects that with Tai having become a lot more cautious as he is now 17 and thinks of all the damage the Digimon could do by fighting in the real world. The Tri films mainly focus on one or two characters in a movie and Reunion's main focus is Tai and building his character. But don't worry if you are a fan of one of the other's as they all appear. The film is just under 90 minutes and has a good mix of Digimon fight's along with characters and nostalgia. To add to the nostalgia the original english voice actors for the following characters return: Tai, Izzy, Mimi, Sora, Agumon, Gabumon, Tentomon, Palmon, Gomamon & Patamon.I loved that so many of the old cast could come back the only couple that stood out for me were that Lara Jill Miller couldn't come back as Kari but having now watched the first 4 parts I have got used to it. Also Biyomon's new voice stood out but now Chermai has got into the role it is fine.So to sumarise if you enjoyed Digimon as a kid and are looking for more time with Adventure cast buy this dvd today. I would reccomend the blu-ray over the standard DVD as it comes with an A4 poster and 4 art cards along with the obvious improvement is visual quality.

really nice to have the old gang back together
the Whole adventure tri thing is a mixed bag for me in the end i really like it but i cant ignore the problems (for me)the story has progressed and the team is older and have diffrent lives from when they were kids obviously but since its set after adventure two ( i think) but they look younger somehow the previous team gets shown for Seconds but its not Clear what happened to them
