Suzy Sue and her animal friends star in this fabulous rhyming story that will have children giggling all the way to bed. This is the story of Suzy Sue, ready for bed just like you! But then she finds a cow, a horse, a sheep and a goat all fighting for space in her bed! Will she ever get to sleep? The perfect bedtime companion for young children, A Bed of Your Own has been read on CBeebies and is the third book in the Suzy Sue series. Review: A children's classic in the making - This book, as with the others in the series ("Atchoo!" and "Where's my Potty?") Are some of the most entertaining pre-school reading I have encountered. Up there with the likes of Giles Andreas' ("Giraffes can't dance", and "The Chimps of Happytown"), in terms of humour, quality of writing, warmth and cleverness. Written, like the others in such a delightful, out-loud readable, poetic form, this story again recounts the tale of Susie Sue, who attempts to go to bed only to find she has a lot of unwanted company in the form of the cow, horse, sheep and goat from previous tales unwilling to tuck down in their own beds. The story unfolds in the most humorous fashion as each animal appears from under the covers complaining about their inability to sleep due to the thoughtlessness of the others. So Susie Sue leads them back to their own bed, tucks them in and then explains how it is not just going to bed but falling asleep that is the trick, only to fall asleep in their bed as part of her demonstration. The animals return the favour by carrying her back to her own bed, explaining how each creature has their place to sleep.....the final page exclaiming Susie Sue asleep in her own bed........ AS YOU SHOULD BE TOO ! The illustrations are beautiful, humorous and warm and add so much to the story, my two year old can't get enough of this book, well all three of these authors efforts. And I can't get enough of reading them. These should become children's classics and I can't recommend highly enough. Not only being great "tools" to deal with toddlers issues (Potty training, manners, bedtimes) they are books that will stay with you through childhood and be long remembered, and I can't think of higher praise than that. Review: Highly recommend this book - This is a really great bedtime read, a favorite of both my son and myself. Beautiful images, lovely rhyming and a very enjoyable storyline. I wanted a book specifically about going to bed as my 19 month old son has recently started fighting bedtime, whereas he used to have such a quick and easy bedtime routine before. Now we incorporate bedtime stories and it really helps him calm down after the day and get used to the idea that he's going to sleep soon. I read this book to him at least two times each night and I have to say I still enjoy reading it as much as he enjoys listening to it and looking at the pictures. I will most definitely be ordering the other books by these authors and hopefully they are just as good.

Good book, disappointed with seller
Lovely book. My daughter is not ready for her own bed yet so she's not really keen on it yet. Hasn't let me finish the story, not once. Book arrived as described. However I was a little disappointed to find out it was resold from a charity shop, as the sticker for 50p was still on the back of all three books I bought from the same author, same seller. One of them was described as good condition but was pretty worn. I'm happy to have a few of the books from this author, despite the issues above.

Superb
Poignant and apt, rhythmic and imaginative. This book tells a lovely story and manages to do it in a clever rhyme. On top of that, it's not too short and allows the young listener to travel through a journey. I really like the way it's written, and the story behind it. Pictures are vibrant too. A great purchase.

Brilliant Book for my 2 year old
This book is my one of my son's favourites - he absolutely loves this and asks for it every evening before bed. Because it's all in rhyme, he's becoming so familiar with the words that he's even finishing the sentences. He loves identifying all the animals too. A definite must for all parents to read at bedtime, this book is enjoyable for Mums and Dads too!

My 2 year old son loves this book
This is a favourite with my 2 year old son, he likes to have it read to him most nights and can quote the words to us now! I bought it in the hopes of keeping in his bed through the night (rather than wandering through to us) - I suppose it might have helped a bit, but really it's just a lovely book that he enjoys. Would recommend.

Fun rhyming story about bedtime, great for toddlers
My 2 year old (25 months) loves listening to me reading this story to him at bedtime & has started randomly reciting bits and pieces of it while we're out & about. We will soon be transitioning to a toddler bed so I'm hoping it will help! In any case, the book has a fun rhyming scheme throughout, unlike some baby books I don't get bored reading it over and over (yet..!), toddler laughs when the sheep says "let go of my nose" "Plot" synopsis: A little girl (Suzy-Sue) is struggling to get to sleep in her bed - but that's because there are 4 large animals who have sneaked into bed with her. She marches them back to their own bed & then tries to get them to go to sleep... falling asleep herself in the process. There are no adults/family mentioned in the story.

I just love it, one of the best books for a toddler !
Really my girl loves it, we read it in the morning, we read during a day and then in a bath before going to bed. Excellent story, excellent pictures. My daughter was 20 months old when we purchase it and 4 months later, she reads it daily !

Show your toddler that everyone benefits from having their own bed.
Little ones will love the animals and learn where some animals sleep. They are introduced to the idea of having one's own bed. A valuable lesson for sure!

as good as the all the other ones from this series
Me and my kid loooove this book and all the other ones in the series. I love it because it is educational without preaching a boring sermon, and my kids love it because it is fun, and cute and relatable. Every time my girls have trouble going through some of those issues (potty, bed, going to school, good manners etc) I read them the story and she overcomes it...
