You'd think that with all the clones out there that work perfectly (even the very cheap Far Eastern copies of copies), a Hozelock-type connector would be a no-brainer. Sadly, this item demonstrates that that isn't the case.It initially seems to be fine: looks right, fits right. But turn on the water and the plug is pushed out causing a massive leak. It doesn't come right out, being still retained by the locking mechanism, but enough for the seal to, er, not seal. The cause of the problem is shown in the photo, which has this item on the right and a genuine Hozelock item on the left. The dashed lines make it clear that the distance between the tip and rear shoulder are different, with this item being smaller. That means the rollers in the socket locking mechanism can't fully drop into the recess, so can't lock properly.OK, these things happen and the answer is to send it back as faulty, right? You'd think so, but although I could easily get a return started, no matter what reason I gave I always wound up having to pay postage. Clearly for a £2.70 item that's going to stiff the bulk of my refund, and I don't see why I should pay when the problem is of the vendor's making. Yet, despite distance selling regulations and many emails to the vendor, I cannot get even the offer of a postage refund out of them.I'll be sure not to order from this vendor again, and I encourage anyone interested in this item to buy the genuine Hozelock part instead - it is currently the same price on Amazon.

This adapter works well with my hozelock hose and micro irrigation 3/4 female. Have to push one more time after I get locking sound to get another locking sound with my hozelock end.

cheaper version but seems to work ok

Tail a bit on the short side had to file tail longer to stop hose coming off.
