Masterplug MVA1200 1200mA Mains Multi-Voltage Adaptor

This multi adapter has the opposite of the ones you normally buy - basically most adapters have 5v or 7.5v where as this has 6v 9v (which is an odd sort of number when using an adapter) Hope that makes sense - plus has both polarities for the various plugs (just make sure you check the polarity on you appliance and check end of tip) that you attach to lead that you have fitted it the correct way around otherwise you may think the adapter is not working. IF the appliance is positive and you put the end multi point tips on the end of the lead in the negative position then of course the adapter will appear to not work - also be careful you do not bend the pins on the different ends (as they are a wee bit of a tight fit) although this prevents them from falling out of the end of the lead or giving a bad or intermittent connection.

Designed and built to fail (sooner or later). I bought a bunch of these about 2 years ago. One stopped working after a year - I just threw it away - now another one has stopped working and I've got to throw that one away too. So I'm guessing they'll all fail eventually. I haven't even started using all of them yet. I would never buy this brand again. Very poor quality and build. Many other one star reviewers say that these are dangerous too. They have no user serviceable parts inside - no fuse - you can't even open up the thing to see what went wrong. It uses unique screws that can't be unscrewed without a very rare screwdriver that I've never seen on sale anywhere.AVOID!!!

Bought a couple of these and they didnt get much use and yet they all busted .. Buy a Maplin branded of you want long lasting and reliable adapter.

Bought this to replace a broken adapter for our baby monitor and this has been working every day at least 9 months now and works well.The nice bit about this is that the voltage is easy to set without any real fiddling, however it is easy to knock the voltage tab and change voltage output. So if this is away from any moving items or people ( ie behind a book case ) then great, if it will be in a spot easily knocked perhaps get a piece of tape to cover the voltage setting tab.

A well made, good value plug top power supply with various voltage options. A set of power plug pin-outs is provided to allow use with the majority of DX input devices. A Sony 1mm pin-out isn't included. The power supply is a switch mode circuit and may cause radio interference - as most switch mode power supplies can do - it doesn't therefore use a mains transformer. Runs cool. For normal domestic use within the supply current available it represents very good value.

This works, however, I wouldn't consider this a permanent solution if you're intending this to be a replacement/substitute for your electrical items. The end plugs don't fit in well, and tend to fall out rather easily, it's like this with various different items that I tried it with, and I had to hold the end plug to the connector various times for it to hold power. If you need it for testing, or powering things on here and there, then this may be the item for you.

I purchased two of these for the price to run my 6volt shed alarms. I would have given full marks if it were not for the very flimsy red slide button which fell of as soon as I used it. I have thrown it away as it is fixed very poorly and use a small electrical screwdriver to move the slide. Other than that does the job and would still recommend compared to others I saw at far more expensive prices. Plus you get all the adapters.

Bought 6 months ago as a replacement for a lost charger. Works absolutely fine and the variable connectors and supply voltage are occasionally useful.
