Great Dock
This is a perfect dock when you need HDMI and a couple of USB ports—plus wired internet! For most people it's probably everything you'll need. I use it with a MacBook Air M2. I connect the dock to a USB-C charger, then I plug the dock into my laptop with the attached cable and it provides power to the laptop. I connect a monitor via the dock's HDMI port, and with a keyboard and mouse connected, I can close the MacBook and use it as if it's a desktop. Of course, you don't need to use this dock like that. If you just need the ports, the dock will provide those perfectly just by connecting it to your laptop, no external power needed. My only complaint is that the attached cable is pretty short, but the short length allows it to hide perfectly underneath the dock, which is pretty cool, so there's an upside to that too. After a month of use, I'm very happy with this dock. It's sturdy and does everything I need. Some pros will need more ports and/or Thunderbolt ports, which this does not provide, but for the average person, this is a perfect dock.

Great I/O - once you get it working.
Up front - *now* I am a huge fan of this "dock-le" - it has a great form factor, size, and function for the weary traveler. Love. It.However, out of the box (which is how I expect Apple-esque plug'n'play accessories to work, it was a disaster - it wouldn't do the one thing that I purchased it specifically for - run my SuperDrive. TL;dr - it *will* - but it took three calls to customer service (worse than useless - directly misinformed me) and tech to find out *why* it wasn't., and download the driver about which there was no mention in the box, and get it up and running. I repeat - now, it's a dream, and I look forward to it being the hub of my out-of-studio workflow. But OWC should do a little internal training, and it might not be bad to include an insert that say, "Must install DockEjector for full function"

This is a fantastic dock, even if you use it full time at a desk.
I bought an no-name brand dock during the pandemic that served for several years, but the cable it came with failed and it refused to work with replacement cables! Having had good experiences with other OWC products I purchased this dock to use at my desk with an external monitor, ethernet, keyboard, mouse, MIDI controller, and USB audio interface. It really makes up for the MacBook Air not having any of these ports! It works very well, although I found the built-in cord to be too short for connecting it to my MacBook Air when it is on the laptop stand. I bought a 1 meter braided heavy-duty USB-C extension cord to use with it, which is absolutely perfect for my setup.

Great build quality
Solid, great quality, and has all the ports I need. Unfortunately one of rubber feet fell off, but other than that it’s great

Great Dock for BASIC, Single USB-C Connection... NOT a Top Tier Device At All Though
Bottom Line Upfront: Will not drive multiple displays and chokes on high-bandwidth operations such as 5+ person zoom sessions with video enabled.I was regularly loosing network connection on 5+ person video zoom calls. Traced the problem to this device. It seems to work fine on my single display setup. Just weird that when it crashes I loose network... nothing else. I have USB peripherals, both displays and I can see network activity on the NIC at the dock... just loose it at the computer on the USB-C and have to power cycle the dock to get it to work again. The tipping point appears to be adding video.Point... if you have a serious setup, this is not the dock for you.

Ethernet port. Love it, just in case
Ethernet port, I may never use it...but it's there if I need it for something. USB, HDMI, card reader is great to have.
