How is the oil applied, and how much should be used?

The instructions for my shredder are: Ensure the switch is set to 'Off'. Apply the oil sparingly across entry. Switch shredder 'On' and run in reverse for 2-3 seconds.

Can the Fellowes shredder all be used with any make of shredder please?

I understand that it certainly can. It is simply a light machine oil, similar to what is used on sewing machines, and can be used on any cutting/rotating surface such as shredders. Always oil very lightly and restrict the oiling to the shredder slot to ensure no transfer to other surfaces. It is said that oiling every time the shredder bin is emptied is desirable and you will notice an immediate increase in efficiency and quietness. Just remember to use sparingly!

Can this be used on hair clippers too?

This is a light machine oil suitable for cutting blades so I can't see any reason why this wouldn't be good for clippers.

Whilst the oiled sheets are obviously easier to use, I have found that the bottled oil is far better. The shredder runs cooler for longer and is much quieter using loose oil. ONE POINT ~ just use pin to make hole in top of spout, otherwise you will swamp the machine. Hope this helps, K
