After a few months still working fine
Good product, well made. And is still working after 7 months heavy use, unlike some of the cheaper Chinese ones.

Great little sander with good power
Bought this to sand a freshly plastered wall. The wall had lots of lumps and bumps after the self plastering experience but this little guy made light weight of the task. It has a little dust bag on the back that collects the dust and does a good job. It’s powerful for it size comfortable to use and sands well. It does vibrate a lot and gives you a funny feel in your hands afterwards but I think they all might do. Lots of small bursts. Ensure you buy dust mask and eye protection

Good all rounder
Great sander and even collects the dust, just make sure to empty and clean regularly!!Base hasn't melted away yet either like cheaper brands tend to do. Sanded newly plastered walls and woodwork so far so good. Pads do sometimes spin off after they become too warm though!!

Stood Up to Lots of Abuse. Performs Well
I was a little wary of buying this sander due to some of the other reviews people have given on Amazon but thought for the price I would give it a go. As per usual my review is split into a quick short review and a longer detailed version:Short ReviewPROS- Reasonably Priced- Standard 125mm size - so easy to get replacement abrasives that don't have to be Bosch- Surprisingly Powerful- Easy to Control with one hand- Dust Collection is more or less a pro- Solid build quality - had stood up to a bit of abuseCONS- No soft start - this is a minor thing and not expected at this price point- No case / bag - again not really expecting one at this price- No speed controls - would have been nice and would only have cost pence to add a speed controller to itDetailed ReviewAs I said above I wasn't expecting much with this sander given it has received it's fair share of negative reviews on here but given it was from Bosch a brand a normally trust and it was cheap enough especially compared to other big brand sanders I decided to roll the dice on it.I have used it daily in my workshop for the past two months now and I have had no problems with it. I am not one of these people that spends more time cleaning their tools than using them so as a result it's already had a tough life of abuse in my shop from getting trailed around by it's lead / cord to this 18 stone gorilla bearing down on it plus it's easily been dropped from the bench onto the floor half a dozen times and it's powered on without any problems.I thought that it might be a bit under powered at 220w but I was pleasantly surprised at it's power and whilst it is easy for me to control with one firm hand it does take a bit of pressure to keep it under control. It performs very well on a wide range of hardwoods I work with such as Walnut, Cherry and Oak and assuming you use decent abrasive discs ie. not the cheapest ones you can find and know how to sand properly which I know you do then it really does perform very well.I am more of a Makita than a Bosch man but given the price of this unit compared to a similar spec'ed Makita model it was less than half the price and apart from perhaps a soft bag / case and a speed controller I fail even as a die hard Makita fan to see where the difference in performance would be. I suppose time will tell as to how long it will live for but given the abuse it's received to date without missing a beat the odds are looking good however I will adjust this review if it does die a premature death so if you are reading this then it's still going strong. The dust collection isn't bad... it's not brilliant either but it works and the little container / filter is easy enough and quick enough to empty.Granted most orbital sanders are 125mm size which is pretty much standard so makes it easy enough to buy replacement discs pretty much anywhere including the dreaded B&Q if in a pinch.Yes it would of been nice to have a hoover attachment (which is sold separately), a bag / case but neither were expected given the price but the lack of a speed controller switch which would have cost Bosch literally pence to include did feel a bit mean but I suppose the cost savings have to show somewhere. Not really sure why other reviewers have had bad experiences with their sanders... perhaps a bad batch or maybe too heavy handed.. I don't know but as far as my experience goes I would recommend it.

Great product
Great product. I have done so much manual hand sanding over the years (as a DIYer)...doors, skirting boards, window shelfs etc, so wish I had gone this sooner. Its effortless. So easy to change the sanding pads - lots of different ones available. So quick and easy to sand - leaves a perfect surface in seconds. I have used on painted wooden surfaces and walls (for polyfilla etc). The dust collection is ok, but not great - it does release a fine cloud of dust into the air / across the room, so you will still need to put down sheets or clean up after.Overall I recommend this product.

Great Peice of Kit
I wish i'd bought this sooner.I've used this numerous times now for general DIY tasks and found it perfect for for prepping and smoothing off areas prior to decorating. I've used it on both wood and painted walls with great results. The item is lightweight and can easily be operated with only one hand and fits in your palm nicely so feels comfortable to hold.It has a filter and small dust collector on it but no matter how careful you are with it you will still get dust everywhere so it would still be wise to wear a mask when using.Would definitely recommend this especially if you know you will get a few uses out of it. Worth the investment.

More sanding discs needed.
It seems a decent piece of kit so why only 3 stars? Because you get a measly one sanding disc which I used for 5 minutes before it became clogged up with old paint. For the price of this sander I would have expected maybe at least 5 spare sanding discs. As a sander this does seem to be fine although it is early days.

Does exactly what it says
Doing up a two bedroom flat and I find myself filling lots of holes in the walls and needing to paint doors and skirting boards. I started off with one of those spongey sanding blocks but soon found it tiring so I invested in this little Bosch orbital sander and a box of 100 sanding disks.Talk about easy and effective! Leveling the filler on the walls became an absolute doddle. Smoothing and prepping the woodwork was also simplicity itself, just a matter of choosing the correct grade sanding pads. Attaching the pads using this velcro system is straightforward and the pads don't budge during use. The unit is small and very easy to guide it and apply the right amount of pressure. The dust collector isn't hugely effective but I have a Henry for clearing up. Also it's a bit noisy but that's the nature of power tools.Overall I'm really pleased. The results are great and it represents good value for money.
