The title says it all
The book title says it all. A good way to boost your basic repertoire and give you a bit of confidence that you've made some progress when just starting out. The tablature is simple and easy to follow using a diatonic harmonica in the key of C. Ability to bend notes is not required. I could only find one tune with some bends in it. If you can play single notes and move up and down the scales it is relatively easy to play something recognisable from this book. I bought this in conjunction with Blues Harp From Scratch, which provides some very good exercises for practicing isolating single notes and moving around the harp.

Good but not for absolute beginners
I found the tabs were accurate and well presented. A wide range of songs to play from different genres which was good. I would say though if you are a beginner do not expect to open this book and be able to play every tune, some songs in here require a fair bit of practice to master. In my opinion that is a good thing as it challenges us to get better.

The Book is an invaluable tool for an harmonica player starting out.
I am really impressed with the comprehensive list of tunes to suit a wide range of tastes. Useful guidance that is easy to understand. An excellent product, sturdily packaged, delivered within the stated time.As always, I am a very satisfied customer. Thank you

Limited accessability for most potential readers
Yes, there are bass-lines here for a lot of well-known songs, but only if you already know the songs well. The absence of any information about the songs' melodies leaves all the songs you don't know in a no-go area.Venturing onto YouTube or a streaming service just to find out how the songs go sounds too much like hard work. And it's in tablature. Now I know lots of Renaissance lute music was in tablature, and I thought I'd manage a book written in it for once, and tablature can sometimes give useful hints about the position to take to play a phrase, though not always supplying the best one, but tablature only gives a physical indication about what one musical instrument is doing, not the music itself, so remains a real struggle for many music readers.

Loads of choice
My son is learning Bass Guitar so we got this to use alongside the stuff he is learning in his lessons. There is a good selection of different types of music to have a go at and he has enjoyed trying songs he didn't know before. Easy to understand as a learner. Even his teacher thought it was a good book!

It's ok
A good book but could be much better with a CD to accompany it... from a beginners point of view.
