Me and my buddies do a lot of saltwater fishing. I bought a pair of these last spring (2018). None of us could believe what a great set of pliers these are and especially for the price. They are light, easy to grip and fits your hand very well. The length is good for extracting hooks and the cutter cuts braid line very easy and clean which surprised all of us. They show no sign of rust being used in saltwater. You can slide the sheath right on to your belt. The pliers are attached to the sheath by a durable coated coil spring which is easy to remove if you like. We all have a pair of these now and we are all very pleased with them. They really are are a good pair of pliers at a very good price.

I first bought Madbite pliers but returned them after thier first use (the tips bent). So I was a little weary on these. Wow! Am I glad to be wrong. These pliers are far superior and amazing. Very well constructed and easy to use! If you’re in the market for new pliers... buy these without hesitation. You will be impressed I assure you.Update: I’ve been using these for months. Probably pulled hooks out of 100 fish by now. No gaps in the pliers, no dull cutting blades etc... if I need another pair one day. I’ll be buying these again for sure!

Great feel, weight and use. My only downgrade on the rating is grip. I’m a surfacaster and frankly in dry conditions the depth of the individual finger holds is way too shallow. In wet conditions this will be an issue. This is a simple update that requires minor modification to the design to ensure minimal finger slip on the grip. I’ll need some kind of tape to modify traction on the handle. Otherwise great product.
