Useful little mower
I have used this mower a few times since I purchased it. It takes me longer to cut the grass than with my petrol rotary mower, (because the width of the cut is narrower) but it does give a better cut. As long as you accept the limitations imposed by this type of mower, it is very good. You cannot for example mow right up to the edge of a lawn - the wheel will fall off the edge. You will always have about a 4 inch band that will have to be cut with a strimmer or some shears. Also, the grass basket will need emptying before it is full. On the positive side, it is light enough to be carried from the back to the front of the house and It does appear to be well made - many of the parts being made of metal, in comparison to the plastic used on some mowers by other manufacturers. I always brush the loose grass off and apply a coat of oil before storing the mower in the garden shed, in doing so It should give many years of service. It is a pity that it is only produced in a 30cm cutting width, if they could produce one with a 40/45cm cut, that would be even more useful!

A cut above
Bought this on the basis that the lawn would improve using a cylinder mower rather than a hover and with the size of lawn we now have left after intensive shrub planting it seemed overkill to get a powered version. The mower itself is absolutely fantastic - ready to go straight out of the box after assembly of the handle unit. It is very easy to push, even on a slightly uneven lawn, and cuts the grass into very fine pieces which fire out of the back of the cylinder. I would thoroughly recommend it for quality of cut and at the same time getting a gentle work-out!The only reason I'm not giving this five stars is because the grass-box lets it down - it's flimsy and has a tendency to 'flip up' and empty itself if you change direction sharply or pull the mower back towards you too fast. Rather than faff about with it, I am considering either leaving the (very fine) cuttings on the lawn or using a rake after each cut.

Disappointing
I regret to say that I was disappointed with the quality of manufacture of this item. Firstly the handles were slightly scratched, no big deal but not what you expect. The handles also looked as if they were slightly deformed. After assembly, i found that they were indeed deformed giving a wonky set up. However lying the mower on the ground and gently pressing the handles with my foot slowly put them back to shape. Then, when it came to use I noticed that one of the wheels had not been tightened as much as the other, and was quite wobbly. (I managed to tighten it with the aid of a mole grip but it was not easy). Finally the instructions - be prepared to do things twice - the instructions lack detail so you may, like me have to undo something and try again. All that said, it does not take up much room (the reason for purchase) and does seem to work quite well. However the quality of manufacture of mine left something to be desired.

Good mower, poor handle
The mower itself is very good, in that it cuts well and it's light. The mower rides over even a bumpy and rather neglected country lawn with relative ease. However - and this is a big however - the handle is very poor. WOLF-Garten have chosen to make it in several parts, presumably for ease of packaging, but the bolts they include to fix the handle together are completely inadequate. I hadn't finished even one section of the lawn before every single bolt had come loose, and I then spent the majority of the rest of my mowing time tightening bolts, refixing bolts, searching for nuts and bolts and, finally, replacing them with others I had. Finally, at the weekend when I had transport, I was reduced to making a special trip to a hardware store and spending time (and a not inconsiderable amount of extra money) purchasing proper fixings for the mower's handle. If you are going to buy this mower then you will have to replace the bolts WOLF-Garten supplies (and so spend extra over and above the price of the mower). This is not necessarily a deal breaker but it's a very poor show, particularly from a company which boasts "For more than half a century, Wolf Garten has been working towards one important aim; to provide gardening tools and machinery of premium quality and performance that help make gardening easier and more enjoyable".What you will need to secure the parts of the mower's handle properly are bolts of the proper length plus 'shake washers' (who knew?) and nuts with nylon inside the thread. Maybe, if you have beautifully smooth and even lawns which are already manicured to within an inch of their lives and you mow at a sedate and stately pace, you don't need any of this. For those of us living in the real world, mowing our less-than-perfect lawns in real time, a visit to a hardware store is unfortunately necessary if the parts of this mower's handle are going to be persuaded to stay together.

Rubbish mower.
This mower is rubbish basically. You can adjust it every which way all day long and it barely cuts grass no matter what you do. I didn't give up easily either, blaming myself for it's initial failure to cut properly. You can have it on max height or min height and its seems to make no difference, it takes off about a millimetre of grass in every setting. I think it's poorly conceived, badly designed and cheaply manufactured. Maybe I was unlucky and got a duff one but it's on its way back to Amazon who as always are totally cooperative and customer friendly.
