Tiny, Cheap, Effective.
I paid full price for this Amp the day it became available on Amazon.I have been using it for some months now almost daily in my office and sometimes when travelling.I use it with Sennheiser IEMs, AKG K550 closed over ear reference headphones and AKG 7XX open over ear refernce headphones.I highly recommend this amp. I listen to allsorts from Jazz, Triphop, Rock, Metal, IDM, Drum & Bass, Pop and this amp works great.Sound 5/5: Great sound quality, able to drive my fairly power hungry over-ear headphones. I tested on my phone (LG G4) and laptop headphone sockets and found that the amp provides much more power in the bass giving a much more full sound - the built in audio jacks on phone and laptop cannot handle these headphones at all. The bass on the K550 is as articulate as on my desktop DAC/Amp and I cannot say one sounds better than the other. It drives my IEMs very well and the bass even becomes more articulate and present in these compared to the phone audio socket.Unfortunately through my phone there is some audible noise during silence coming from the amp. It stops as soon as any level of music is playing but is unpleasant in between tracks. The level of noise is actually better still than the noise from my laptop headphone out.Form: Great looking device, the clip comes off easily and I use it with velcro to attach to the read of my phone. I am disappointed it did not come with a double ended Micro USB cable but it only works with select phones. The cable it comes with is fine. A carry case would have been nice. I am impressed with the tiny size!Overall - buy it if you want a portable and potent upgrade to your listening experience.

It Works!
I bought this to use with my Huawei P Smart. I've previously used a Fiio A1 which does improve the sound but due to the unusual on/off/equaliser button was constantly discharging the battery when I thought it was turned off.The K1 was easy to set up and doesn't require any downloads. It does make a difference to volume and produces a bigger, more defined sound when used with Rock Jaw Alfa Genus earphones. It doesn't work so well with RHA CL750s which are more power hungry and are usually driven by my Fiio A5.Overall I'm very happy with it but only mark it down due to the provided USB/Micro cable which is too short to connect to a PC. I also had to pay an extra £10 for a Micro to Micro cable which would have been a better option to include.

Little or no noticable improvement.
I tested this with Soundmagic E10 headphones and a Moto G4 Android Phone using both HiByMusic (with the exclusive HQ USB audio access option) and the Amazon Music app. Everything worked OK but the sound quality was really no different to just plugging the headphones into the phone directly. I bought this in the hope of replacing my now defunct Sansa Clip+ which really does, or did (sniff!), produce better sound on the same headphones - Quadrophenia made the hairs on the back of my neck spring up ever time I played it - but I'm reluctantly going to return it and look for another solution.

Great sound quality for the price.
A very solid little dac & amp combo for a pretty good price. It's a massive upgrade over integrated audio and it can drive even less efficient headphones. I've been using it with my laptop and tablet for the past couple of months and it hasn't disappointed.Fiio doesn't advertise it as a phone DAC, be sure to do proper research if you're interested in getting it for your phone, but ymmv as it doesn't seem to work with some phones (doesn't work with my Galaxy S4 for example).Other things of note: it doesn't need drivers, it's plug & play unless you need ASIO; good build so it can take some abuse; very low noise floor, even with very sensitive IEMs.Also if you're getting popping and clicking sounds while listening to music, be sure to turn off all USB related power saving features in Windows, also check in control panel if you have any device power management options turned on under 'Universal Serial Bus controllers'. It did the trick for me.I've attached a few pictures, one to help give you a sense of the scale of this tiny thing and two with the internals for curiosity sake.

its pretty good but before playing a music track you can hear digital noise feedback in the quite parts.

Improved sound quality but be aware of device compatibility issues
Really like this DAC. It gives a significant increase in quality, even when using cheap earphones (basic £20 Sony in-ear items) and my Samsung S5 Nero phone. I also play around with the equalizer in Spotify to get exactly the sound I want.I had to buy a short micro USB cable to work with the phone, but that was only a couple of pounds.Having said the above, the item wont work with my old MotoG (2nd generation), but that is getting a bit old now. I also tried it with my Ipad Air 2, with a tiny lightning/micro USB adaptor and that didn't work either.I've noticed no increase in battery consumption with the Samsung.I will be looking to get a right-angled cable and then attach the DAC to the back of the phone (velcro maybe) so its not such an cumbersome package ti handle. In reality, its not too bad and the phone, DAC and cable easily fit in my coat pocket. So, works well for me, but be aware of compatibility issues.
