Jovan Musk Aftershave Lotion for Men, 118 ml

Hunting down classic aftershaves from back in the day, I decided to try Jovan Musk which is described as an aftershave/cologne.Born in 1973 this is described on the packaging as “Masculine. Powerful. Persuasive.”. So it is definitely from that era when its animal attraction was the main feature! And being orange in colour also gives it that 1970s vibe.Jovan Musk has a warm, lightly musky, spicy and slightly soapy scent. It smells good from the moment you open the bottle and it feels comfortable splashing it on after shaving, with very little in the way of stinging.Once on the skin that warm fresh smell remains for a while. It isn’t the longest lasting scent but the fragrance fades fairly quickly to a low level and stays that way for several hours. It really is quite pleasant and has a clean scent which it would be difficult to be offended by.I don’t have any significant feeling of nostalgia for this brand although I did see it on the shelves back in the 1980s. But sadly nobody ever bought it for me for Christmas so for me it has remained untried until I bought this bottle.I’m glad I’ve bought this. It’s not too musky but the warmth of the spice really brings a great fragrance at pretty good price.

Many years ago I use to use "yardley you're the fire musk". It is no longer made and I was doing research and came across this one. I was looking for a musk that would come close to yardley's smell as its no longer made. I tried this one and it's pretty close to the original Yardley fragrance. It has a beautiful sweet musk fragrance. It lasts just about all day and received a lot of compliments about it. I even know some women now buying it and this fragrance is a head turner. I was asked a number of times what I used and all were complimentary. I also drew some from the bottle and added it to a smaller spray bottle to carry around. This is a great quality product and amazon is probably the only retailer selling it at a reasonable price. Note that this is not a spray bottle but a bottle where you apply the aftershave to your hand. You only need a little as it goes a long way. Even weeks later you still get a smell from your clothes in your wardrobe. Fantastic fragrance.

It’s a nice masculine scent that is perhaps not as strong as it used to be. It benefits though from having that slightly gentler aroma. I wear it as a daily splash even on days when I don’t shave. I like those ancient 1970s products - Old Spice, Brut, Blue Stratos - and this Jovan Musk for Men for me is the best of all of those retro-smellies. The last bottle I bought in a store was £13 in Boots, not too long ago, but in taking out a Subscribe & Save order I now get it for considerably less than that.

I have used this fragrance for many years, and genuinely receive comments about how nice it is. It is relatively inexpensive and works with the body's natural scent to produce a long lasting and unique to you fragrance.I highly recommend this product and for the price its well worth a try fir someone to use as an everyday addition to a man's routine.It just works.

Love this aroma, I haven't had it for quite a while and then my wife bought me this as a present and I was back in my youth again, I'd almost forgotten how nice it is but now I have tried it again I will certainly be buying it for myself again.

I must admit, I was expecting something more 'in your face' than this (or on your face). I didn't use it years ago, so had no idea what this babe magnet smelled like. It appears to be very subtle and not last very long. I think maybe years ago it was made using real musk oil etc. and now, as with everything else, its largely synthetic. Cheap enough though which probably tells the story.

It's a splash and boy oh boy it splashes. So be careful when dispensing it. Perhaps a smaller hole in the bottle for those of us who like to shake it might be better.Anyway on to the scent: It's like a sweet version of Tabac Original, peppery and musky with full-on citrus, lavender and florals. But I also get incense sticks in my nose. I find it a very pleasing scent. Moderate in both the longevity and sillage so it appeals without being in your face. The ladies in my family young and old love the scent. For the Amazon price I paid it's a steal.When used as an aftershave straight after shaving there is very little burn and is hardly noticeable. Initially it's a bit sticky on the face but that stickiness disappears as it dries.And lastly my blurb: You can be traditional without going full-on barbershop and you can be a hippy without having to buy a camper van. Overall, a well deserved 5 stars. I'm sticking with Jovan Musk for Men.
