Q: What is the volume of the tin? I need a 2 litre dome tin, & trying to convert it size wise!!

The volume of a sphere is 4/3 * pi * r^3 where r is the radius, so the hemisphere would hold half of that, which is 2/3 * pi * 10^3 = 2094 cubic centimetres. That's just a tad under 2.1 litres, not accounting for the wall/rim thickness or manufacturing tolerances of course.

Q: How heigh is the cake tin?

If you bought the 8" diameter then it will be a 4" radius - which means that is the height - the measurement from the centre to the edge.

Q: Can you use a Victoria sponge recipe for this tin? Planning on making a ball (2 cakes) and not sure it will hold fondant? Thanks

I have just made a star wars bb8 cake using this tin , made two halves using Victoria sponge mix sandwiched together with buttercream and then covered in buttercream and then covered with fondant. Did the job perfectly.

Q: How do you place this in the oven please?

I put a metal cookie cutter underneath as a stand ti hold in place on a tray and just lowered the rack so cake was centred in oven worked well
