Really increased by broadband speeds to my desktop and used of laptop for great effect
Ease of use?Easy to install USB, drivers auto-install with windows 10 so no effort needed. Comes with extender cable with was very usefull to add some distance from interference from computer and the wall between it and the router.Storage?Doesn't take up much space, especially if connected straight to computer without USB extender.Price?Cheap as it has both 2.4g and 5g meaning you can get the best speeds possible.Reliability?Great so far, though broke on of the antennas off when i caught it standing upWorth Buying?Really increased by broadband speeds to my desktop and used of laptop for great effect

Wifi dongle with insane reach and speed, if you are in need = go buy.
I don't normally write reviews on anything, but I felt a strong urge to do so for this product. It's a fantastic product that delivers coverage and speed as if there's no tomorrow, it connects super fast, the driver is fantastic, the bundled software is informant and useful. The product is solid in its construction, no flimsy bits anywhere to be found.Just make sure you install it correctly, having the official driver for this stick is a absolute must, it wont work without it.If you just plug it in without the correct driver, it will recognize the available wifi, but you cannot connect. I suppose it's due to the fact that the router or what have you, cannot identify it properly if your missing the driver.Oh and the antennas are exchangeable, standard mountings.

Good, however lacks 'Out of the box Support' for certain Operating Systems
The product arrived in a nice little box, and the actual adapter itself is pretty big and powerful. Also supplied was 2 reasonably sized antennas. To my surprise I found that as soon as plugging this into a USB 3.0 port on my PC running windows 10, Windows 10 installed the required driver instantly and I was able to connect to my 5ghz network out of the box achieving a very good signal and the full 150 megabits per second I pay for. Annoyingly the supplied USB dock is only USB 2.0 which makes no sense considering the actual adapter is USB 3.0 and can make full use of the benefits of USB 3 (I have uploaded a picture showing this) nevertheless, the box does state it is a free 'gift' so I'm not going to mark it down because of this. With Windows 8.1, you have to install the both the driver and the software in order to achieve full speeds. I found that the device was plug and play with windows 8.1 however you receive very poor performance without installing the driver from the Alfa website.Pictured, I have some speed tests. I have done an experiment and as you can see the adapter performs very weakly when the antennas are not connected. I get full speeds when connected from my bedroom - which is one floor and one room away from my router. For convenience sake, I have also added a 'real world' speed test conducting a download on a games client called Steam, pictured is the speed in MegaBYTES (not bits), of one of my games downloading. One megabyte is equivalent to eight Megabits so theoretically, according to my own speedtest, I should get a speed of around 19.8 megabytes which is more than accurate using this adapter.Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase, however because of the poor driver support in OS's other than Windows 10 and because of the fact the supplied cradle is only USB 2, and that the adapter performs poorly on its own without the aid of the antennas, I'm satisfied to give this product 4 stars

Strong signal, but Linux use is not guaranteed.
Trying to install drivers in Linux was a struggle, and in the end I gave up. works well with Windows. The extension cable is a good quality and long.

Fantastic reception
My PC has wifi 'n' capability but at the far end of the apartment from the Plusnet fibre router it would only get it at 15 megs or so vs 70megs for the laptop near the router. I tried home plugs but they were no faster - the cupboard where the phone line comes in has the router and about 6 other electrical gadgets plugged into what was originally a single 13A socket. All of them. VoIP gateway, Sonos bridge, DECT phone base station, aerial amplifier etc, have those little power bricks which cause electrical interference and which were slowing the home plugs to a crawl.I considered a wifi repeater but really wanted to stick to a single wifi source so I thought I'd try a better receiver. This gadget is connected to a USB3 port (with a proper USB3 extension cable) and has transformed the computer using part of my life. It sees far more wifi sources than the internal Dell receiver and mostly gives me over 60megs broadband, with a fastest of 67megs. That makes downloads and uploads wonderfully quick (we synch our computers continuously across Dropbox Pro in the cloud).

Poor drivers and no range.
My old Lenovo T400 sees more wireless networks than this adapter. This has better reception on the visible networks though. Took me 2 hours to install on newer Linux kernel as drivers are not working very well. Couldn't get it working in Windows 7 with downloaded drivers from Alfa's site. It worked right away on Windows 10, but again could pickup less networks than my old T400 built in. If you're looking for an AC adapter this is fine, but don't expect to have the advertised range.
