SanDisk Ultra 128 GB Dual Type-C USB 3.1 Flash Drive, Silver

I purchased this USB to go with my new MacBook Pro 15" 2017 due to the fact the Mac only has USB C ports, and its come in extremely handy since. The tech world is moving towards USB C with many new devices offering USB C in the mix of ports, or in apples case, the only port. This little USB therefore comes in super handy as it allows you to plug in to any standard USB/USB C device and means you only need to cary one USB with you, The USB itself is pretty well built, it has a simple design with a plastic/metal housing, a small slider that you use to push either the regular USB or the USB C out and a small hole to attach a lanyard onto. A small, but welcomed feature is that when you retract the USB the slider sits in the centre and stays there, unlike another SanDisk dual USB drive I have used in the past where the slider won't lock into place and as a result the USB's are always sliding out and exposing themselves. Due to the metal body the USB can become extremely hot when transferring allot of data, however from what I can tell this does not seem to effect the performance, you may just want to be careful of this when in use. I can't remember what format the USB came in but I quickly re-formatted it to ExFAT so it would work well on both my Mac and PC, this is really easy to do on windows (Cant speak for Mac as I've never formatted a drive on my Mac, I assume it would be just as easy however) and once done means you can transfer the USB between Mac and PC without issue. The new MacBook Pro's have very limited storage unless your willing to pay a fortune for an upgrade, therefore this is a great way to cut down on costs with a new Mac as you can get a lower storage model and then one of these to store the things you'll use less often. I personally keep backups of my projects on the USB as well as some of my Steam games, the USB is fast enough to be able to download games to it and play them directly off the USB so you can really save some space by storing your games on here. Overall the USB is a must have for new MacBook owners and would do just fine if you intend to use it as a regular USB stick, a future proof investment as more things will begin to move to USB C over the years so this should last you a while!

Probably the best USB drive I’ve used so far. The dual USB-C and USB-A design is really handy, and it’s been fully compatible with everything I’ve thrown at it. I’ve partitioned it for multiple ISOs, app installers, and even a macOS build stick, and it’s handled all of it without any issues. I’m not gentle with my USB drives, but this one has held up well with no signs of damage, and the small size makes it easy to carry around. For the price, I think it offers great value, and I’ve already picked up a couple more and recommended it to a few colleagues.

practical in terms of both usb c and a can get very hot when transferring so not sure if this affects quality design is good but when using the usb c and a it feels slightly flimsy when using with iphone, samsung or even a mac it sometimes disconnects so not sure if is specifically my usb that has this issue but considering its sandisk i expected better.

Really good price and good storage

Early last year I bought the 128 GB version of this, It's great, no trouble connecting with my laptop with the USB A end, and importantly it worked flawlessly with my phone (just a Moto G54 5G) with the USB C connector, coming up in a file manager app just 1 second after plugging it in every time, and ejecting almost instantly. Some months later I decided I really needed a bigger 256GB Flash drive, and bought the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive 'Go' 256 GB as it was flagged as being a newer and faster model - what a mistake. That was OK connecting to the laptop, but was terrible with my phone: half the time it wouldn't connect at all and have to be pulled out and re-inserted, when it did connect it took ages for the file manager on the phone to show it, and it took about half-a-minute to eject. Wondering if it was my phone with the bigger memory flash drive I eventually bought this one, and despite being 256 GB like the 'Go' one, it works brilliantly, just like the 128 GB one. Connects to the phone every time, comes up in the phone's file manager in about 1 second, and ejects almost instantly; and of course you can retract both connectors while on the 'Go' model you can only cover one connector. I really regret buying the 'Go' model first instead of this drive. Pity they don’t do this model in even larger sizes. Anyway - for me, this model and size is brilliant.

I have an iMac with USB-C connections, but I also have a PS5, TV, and car stereo with USB-A connections. This flash drive enables me to put files on the drive via my iMac USBC ports, and transfer them to any of my USBA devices with relative ease. With both ports in, the drive only measures 38.5 x 20 x 9.5mm. It is a lot smaller than previous drives I have owned that had smaller capacities. I cannot comment on speeds, but they seem good to me. Overall, if you are looking for a dual flash drive, then you cannot go wrong with this one.

Great drive and works really well with USB C. I have found though that when trying to put it in the regular USB it won’t push in. Love them for the USB C in the car, but not great for daily use with regular USB inputs. I have replaced with solid Luxe by Sandisk for this.

The USB drive is small, has two sided male ports (USB A and USB C) which can slide out of the USB casing. Note: USB A is the general keyboard and mouse USB connector and USB C is apple's charging cable connector which now a days is common in most smartphones. The USB drive becomes hot when being used on USB C port for large transfers and is common. It can be plugged into mobile phones which has C type charging cable. The actual storage that you would get would be 114 GB. It would never be 128 GB as the rest is occupied by the drivers to run the USB drive. The drive supports exFAT (default) and NTFS file systems only. The actual transfer rate depends on a lot of factors like the type and generation of USB connector, the type of storage, processor, motherboard, etc. Transfer rates are good. I've tested it and shared the results below. The transfer rates may have gone down to 20 MBps in case of 50 MBps for HDD. The 600 MBps mark for HDD (3) went down to 80 MBps and remained constant. 1. USB C 3.2 (Copying to and from SATA HDD) - maximum transfer rate up to 100 MBps and 50 MBbps respectively 6. USB C 3.2 (Copying to and from NVME SSD) - maximum transfer rate up to 130 MBps and 50 MBps respectively

Clé 3.1 qui fait son job pour son prix. Transfert de fichiers rapide et constant. Les 2 types de connectique (usb et usb-c) sont bien pratiques (par exemple transfert de fichiers d'un ordinateur vers tablette avec usb-c). Rien à redire.
