Simple and effective
Great little tool to measure your chain.Compact, cheap and easy to use.I had measured my chain manually but that is messy and hard to do accurately and this confirmed my belief that the chain required replacing. Recommended for cyclists who like to keep on top of their bike maintenance.

Does what it says on the tin
This is a really simple device but one that can save you having to spend out on a chain set every time your chain stretches. It works perfectly as is a great piece of mind and early detector that you need a new chain before you start wearing all the expensive cogs on your bike.

Great for checking drivetrain wear before even more components wear out
Cost me a small fortune! Very cheap item, used on a few bikes and discovered 2 of my older bikes drivetrains were very worn out.I just thought it was lack of lubricant, but on replacing the cassette/chain/rings when this says to do so, my bikes are now almost completely silent... even when used on my silent turbo trainer.I tend to run drivetrains into the ground: typically when gear changes stop being crisp or chains start slipping, but this item if used properly means you can just replace a chain as soon as it wears and prolong your cassette/chainring life and save a bit of cash.

Every cyclist should own one
So simple, cheap and effective. I have two bikes and they were both jumping out of gear. I adjusted the cable etc. I bought this and checked the chains. One was badly worn, so I replaced it and that solved the problem. The other was within tolerances which pointed to the freehub, so changed that. Such a simple tool that saved me time and money.

Good value, easy to use - the stamped digits are hard to see, so added marker pen
Great tool to add to the cycle toolbox. The stamped numbers (.75 and 1.0) are hard to read easily, so like a metal ruler with the indents filled with black ink, I added a bit of fine permenant marker - see photosTried it on all the chains we have on bikes and now I've bought two replacement chains, both Mtb which have more abuse.

Vital maintenance tool
Should have bought one of these ages ago as I have written off numerous rear cassettes prematurely by letting my chain wear too far. Had I known how cheap they were and how easy to use I could have saved myself a fortune. If you, like me, resent paying someone else doing your bike maintenance this is the next purchase after tyre levers, puncture repair kits and pumps.Simple case of slot it in or not, turn the pedals repeat a couple of times and then if it doesn't slide in you are good to go.Has. 75% and 1% markers suitable up to 10 speed, although it seems past. 75 is pushing your luck for the false economy.Well worth the money for the way your gears will keep working.

Perfect
Sturdy, good quality and easy to use. You just put the first step in and if the second step goes all the way in you need to change the chain.
