Good value for money. Works well, easy to use. Sharpens all my knives. Good suction to surfaces which keeps it stable, then pull the knife through a few times, voila! Sharper knife! Easy. Small enough to store in the draw.

Despite the many great reviews I wasn't expecting much from this knife sharpener, considering how inexpensive it is. Glad to say I have been pleaeantly surprised. I took a dull knife that struggled to slice an onion last night, 4 passes through the sharpener and it is razor sharp again. I tried slicing the plastic packaging it arrived in. It cut straight through it with very little effort! The suction base is very strong,. Absolute bargain, and I highly recommend this.

Full disclosure, I use a sharpening steel for my very best knives. It is excellent and I will continue to do so. However, my son was headed off to Uni and had bought himself a few knives to accompany him. He wasn't going to invest the time in sharpening knives with a steel and so we purchased this. If I'm honest, I was sceptical.It's a small, lightweight gadget which sticks to the kitchen worktop via suction (I can imagine some surfaces may be a problem - wood for example). Once secure, you drag your knife through being careful not to press too hard. It does require me to psychologically prepare myself as it feels a bit like nails on a chalkboard (shudder) but it's a quick process.What's good about it?Well, it's compact, sticks really well to the kitchen worktop, is safe, cheap, quick, and easy to use. It also works on serrated edge knives, which I think is a bonus. I've tested it on everything - his cheap knives; my better ones (but not my best ones). It worked really well on all of them.What's annoying about itNot a lot really. His flatmates keep borrowing it, which I suppose counts as a recommendation in itself. He's home for the summer now and so it's living happily in my kitchen. The only downside is it does take metal off your knives and so over time you are probably wearing them away. For me, that is the reason I wouldn't use it for my best, expensive knives.Worth it?I think for something that actually works and doesn't cost a lot of money it is worth it. For the price it does create a sharp blade which makes food prep so much easier. Would I use it on expensive knives - probably not. However, for going to Uni, to take camping, for setting up a first home etc., then I would definitely recommend.I have reviewed this after about six months of use and it is still producing good results and continues to stick to the countertop.

Well this bit of kit is amazing my knifes are run of the mill but now.. I cut my self 3 time because it does what it says the knifes are amazing and the convenience of it sitting on worktop helps, because if the knife is blunt you just sharpen it. The best sharper I ever had worth ever penny brilliant

Purchased another 2 for family members who had seen me use mine and saw the great results from a few runs through this little device with a knife.It's suction cup is very powerful so it stays secure while sharpening.Caution, knives will become incredibly sharp, as my thumb can testify :-)

It sharpened my knife but didn't make it as sharp as I thought it would. It's okay but not amazing, to be fair it was only £8 so you can't expect it to be amazing! Works better on a smaller blade

Very easy to use, grip is very strong. Sharpened all knives I’ve used it on very well (haven’t tried on any serrated blades yet)

I wasn't expecting much, but this little knife sharpener has brought my kitchen knives back to life. A few passes through and they were noticeably sharper, making chopping and slicing so much easier.The suction base is brilliant as it stays firmly in place while you use it, so it feels much safer than holding a traditional sharpener. It's also really compact, so it doesn't take up any space in the drawer.I've used it on a few different kitchen knives and they've all come out with a much better edge. For the price, it's excellent value and has saved me from replacing knives that I thought were past their best.
