Essential adhesive
I've used this product for more than a decade. It has properties that make it ideal for many hobbyist and DIY tasks, and I love that it is a well-behaved adhesive that doesn't dry up in the syringe, works reliably and is good value. If you're new to Araldite Rapid, it is basically a very strong two-part adhesive (the two parts are mixed with a spatula) that will form a treacle-like liquid that will set in around five minutes. It forms a very good bond to metals, ceramics, glass, and most commonly-encountered plastics, and wood. There was a famous advert where a car was stuck to a signboard using Araldite, with the slogan "It also sticks handles to teapots". **** Syringe: Good or Not? **** The two parts of Araldite Rapid are also available in individual tubes (like toothpaste tubes). Avoid that if possible, because this syringe is way better. The toothpaste tube method is messy, you can't use all of it without a lot of squeezing, and also it's harder to get the quantities correct (1:1 proportion is needed). With the syringe, I can squeeze out a near-similar amount of both parts, provided I push the syringe in as square as possible. A small amount will continue to egress even after you've stopped pushing on the syringe, but the trick to resolving that is to pull ever so slightly back on the syringe. In summary I like the syringe method, it works well. **** Mixing It **** The syringe comes with a spatula attached to the side. But one spatula isn't enough. Personally I like using wood barbeque skewers. A pack of 100 or so costs next to nothing, and last for ages. I snap a skewer in half, and use it to do the mixing and applying. You can trim the skewer to the perfect shape for your application (e.g. flat on one side if you break it appropriately and use scissors to make the end of it straight). You need to mix it very thoroughly (mix for at least 30 seconds, depending on your technique), and then you have a minute or so to apply it. **** Applying it **** With the spatula, it is easy to apply the glue. It isn't overly runny, but you may need to gently rotate your object for a minute or so to keep the glue in the area you require it. Think of the thickness of honey or treacle - it is similar to the thickness of this adhesive initially, but it will fairly rapidly thicken - you need to apply it prior to it thickening, so really there is only a 60-90 second window to apply it, if you've spent 30 seconds mixing it. Fortunately with the syringes, there is little waste, you can mix a tiny amount (although then you need to take more care to ensure that the proportions were 1:1 of the two parts), apply it, and then when it hardens, mix some more for any other areas where it needs applying, or to apply more to a joint. It is good to consider beforehand how you will hold the pieces together for about five minutes while it sets. Sometimes I'll just hold the parts, since five minutes isn't long. But don't underestimate the benefits of Blu-Tack, and sticky tape for this purpose : ) **** Tips and Tricks **** Like many adhesives, you can sometimes make a stronger bond by manipulating the surfaces beforehand. Sanding a surface will provide more surface-area for the glue to stick onto. I like using a craft knife and scoring the surface in a hatch pattern, it gives the glue some micro-trenches to dig into : ) It is surprising what a difference this can make. Araldite works really well with ABS plastic and acrylic, especially with the scoring method. I also use this method with aluminium, since it is easy to score that with a craft knife too. PVC works ok-ish. Araldite is good for tacking on PVC wires onto a circuit board. If Araldite gets on your hands, soap seems to clear it off reasonably well (use kitchen towel to wipe off as much of it as possible before and after using soap). Araldite is great for filling gaps, since it thickens rapidly. You may need to rotate the object by hand while it sets, to keep it in the correct place. It's not too difficult. **** Summary **** Araldite Rapid is excellent for many tasks, I consider it one of the core adhesives to keep around the home. Really no home should be without these three: Araldite Rapid, and impact adhesive (like UHU) and a cyanoacrylate 'superglue' (e.g. Loctite). With these three, you're set for a wide range of tasks.

AMAZON gets the 5 STARS - Araldite NEW single mix syringe USELESS - ZERO STARS !
THE PHOTO IN THE LISTING IS NOT CORRECT - The item sent is the SINGLE MIX TUBE TYPE ! wastes most of the product in the two tubes supplied and after you have used the two tubes, say goodbye to the unused product as you throw it in the hazard bin! I have used Araldite for years and have always found it to be very reliable and functional 2-part epoxy. The two syringe stystem was a real improvement on the two tube original. OK you had to adjust the pressure on the plunger a litttle to make sure you got even amounts out of each side, but that was only a slight inconvienence. Now some clown in their design department (who obviously does not use the glue themselves) has designed a single 'mix tube' and you only get two of them in a pack, the tube is filled with glue after the mix, so have to be thrown away as there is no way to clean them and once you have mixed two lots, that's it, you have to chuck anything left away. I have tried to contact Araldite customer service, however, they don't answer the phone (or someone Araldited the handsets down). The 5 STARS are for AMAZON ----------------------------------- AMAZON is without doubt the best online store available, their customer service is 2nd to none and they are always willing to help and offer solutions. TWO THUMBS UP for AMAZON

TOP TIP - RE: THE NEW APPLICATOR NOZZLES
Just read the recent reviews to discover that Araldite, in their infinite wisdom, have decided to redesign the nozzle applicators and the package is now different to the one above on the Amazon website. Open the pack and it's confusing to see these 2 separate nozzles (as shown in the image) drop out. Then try to work out how to use them with the poor instructions on the pack. The nozzles are designed to be screwed into the main unit once the main cap is removed (twist turns off). These nozzles will become blocked and impossible to clean, so effectively you can only use each one once and that's a faff. TOP TIP = don't bother using them. Carefully dispense the combined resin and hardener direct from the unit, using the familiar plunger, onto a clean dry surface and mix. Clean the main nit nozzle afterwards. That's it! It's the usual high quality adhesive - so stick with it. But an utterly ridiculous design using separate nozzles. I had to drop a star for this.

Hard to beat this
Brilliant. Used araldite years ago. I forgot how good it was. I bought this to fix my son’s pedal box( part of a steering wheel set up for his computer). The plastic pedal snapped, and is also spring loaded. However it snapped in such a way that it could be fixed with a decent glue. Been about 18 months now and still good. I’ve used it to fix loads of other things too. And still not used half of it yet. It comes in a two part syringe. You put out what you want onto a piece of card or something and mix. When done you put the little cap on to use again. You think that the cap will become stuck on but it comes off pretty easy the next time you use it. Well worth having this about. It’s paid for itself 10 times over on what I’ve fixed and not had to replace

Great Epoxy, but the New Twin Mixing Nozzles are Rubbish
This has always been my "go to" epoxy resin and it sets fast and is extremely strong. BUT, they have done away with the twin short nozzles and replaced them with two, single use, self mixing, long nozzles. It certainly wasn't an engineer who came up with this concoction. Sure, they save you having to mix the product, but they are single use, they waste a huge amount and then, once you've used up the new nozzles, there is no easy way to use the syringe without getting the two chambers cross contaminated. Got my money back and replaced it with the Gorilla alternative - not as good, but easier to use.

Easy to apply and strong adhesion
I like the delivery mechanism of this 2 part epoxy adhesive as it makes application clean and easy. The nozzle is fitted in place of the cap and it pre-mixes the 2 tubes when the plunger is pushed. The adhesive can then be applied as it exits the nozzle. A small plastic tool is provided to adjust the adhesive if required, within the five min window before the adhesive becomes too stiff to move around. I glued a plastic control panel back into its recess on the metal body of a slow cooker. You need to press the plunger quite hard to deliver the adhesive. This was not an issue for me, but I think may be a problem for some. There are wings at the end of the syringe to wrap your fingers around while pushing the plunger with the thumb. A good idea, though not very comfortable due to the pressure. I re-capped the syringe and disposed of the nozzle as there is no way to remove the mixed epoxy adhesive. It is great that a second nozzle is included in the pack, as I had to use the syringe again about 24 hours later. I found it a lot harder to push the plunger for the second usage, but was still able to apply the adhesive to the job. I have thrown the syringe away as I cannot source spare nozzles and I think the contents of the tubes will not last once exposed to air. I like the speed and simplicity of the application and the strong adhesion once set. The epoxy adhesive is rated to 80degC (stated on the packaging), so will monitor its performance while the pressure cooker is being used. I would use this product again if I need a quick reliable fix, though have deducted a star as it is a little expensive for what is effectively a one time use product.

Come usarla per plastica
Ottima per riparare oggetti di plastica . Vanno prima carteggiati e puliti con alcool . I due composti devono essere amalgamati almeno per 20 secondi prima dell’uso .
