Small, but mighty!
This sander is a life saver, bought to help with a small project instead of using sanding sheets manually and results are brilliant, not just in terms of speed but also in quality. The detail attachment is excellent for hard to reach areas and makes life a lot easier. After about 20 minutes of use it started generating some unusual ‘hissing’ noise when more pressure is applied which stops if pressure is reduced, hopefully not a motor related noise and hopefully will continue work properly. Found plenty replacement sheets available to purchase at a reasonable price if required in future so that’s another positive. Only downside is dust collection which is quiet poor, but if you’re out sanding you don’t expect a clean job so it’s to be expected. Overall verdict is that it’s a must have in your DIY kit, gives far better results than manual sanding with much less effort and time spent. And at £20.00, I’d buy again if it failed.

Best thing since the wheel! Should've got one years ago!!
I feel that few things have come along since the wheel that is so revolutionary! A tool that really changes things from what they've always been, rarely comes along in my many years of DIY. I do all my own decorating and recently moved to a house with a lot of damaged and chipped woodwork. The one job I absolutely hate with a passion is sanding woodwork and I was resigned to how awful would be the many hours I would have to devote to preparation. Plus the rough hands and the soreness and general frustrations of hand sanding. Thing of the past! No longer held up by dread of hand sanding. Bye bye drudgery. It takes no time at all to get a good key for the new coat of paint - even on moulded surfaces. What's more, unsurprisingly, you get a better result than ever by hand. I don't even have to apply pressure with my arthritic hands. You must not put any pressure on the Mouse, but let it alone do the work. What a little beauty! It is also light, not very noisy and a pleasure to use. Then there's the design of the sanding sheets, so simple but so ingenious, giving you extra pointy bits for where the sandpaper gets the most worn out quickly. Finally, the price. Amazing! This little sander has all you could want from its design and value for money and, it will improve your DIY lot so much.

Works well but probably not ideal for doing big stuff
I recently used this to sand a shed down which was quite weathered and needed painting. It's done the job (albeit its taken some time) and I'm generally happy with the sander. Things I think are worthy of note: 1) There's no dust bag - a lot of other sanders seem to have this. The dust gets sucked up through holes in the pad but is just in this case blown out the back end. I thus found myself coated in a thin layer of dust after the job. I didn't have a suitable vacuum to stick on the end of the dust outlet. 2) The tip part of the pad and the separate finger detail attachment will wear. Basically the nylon hooks on the pad get hot and melt a little over time which slightly compromises the ability to hold on to the sand paper on small parts of the pad in this area. The underlying pad in these areas also squashes a bit too. Not massive, but expect to have to replace these at points. For info I found a replacement detail finger thing online for £4 so not massive expense, but perhaps quite a bit in relation to the cost of the sander. Like I say, this is a good little sander, particularly good for getting in to detail areas which larger sheet and orbital sanders couldn't do. If I was doing large jobs without a lot of detail I'd perhaps go for something bigger, but this is a good addition and perfect for small jobs.

A nice little sander from Black & Decker, good for preparing surfaces for painting etc
I bought this as it was reduced in price and I do like to do some DIY from time to time. I've just re-painted my window sills and this tool was excellent for sanding down the old surface. The sanding surface is big enough to sand something like a door quite quickly while being small enough to handle easily (with one hand) and to get into any small corners. The box came with an attachment that goes on the front to allow you to just use the tip of the sander, I found this great for sanding a joint in two pieces of curved coving on the ceiling. There is a part that you can supposedly attach a hoover to but my hoover isn't the right size. Plus I think a hoover hose on the end would make it a lot less portable so I think I'd rather do the sanding, make a mess and then clean up afterwards. The box contained quite a few spare sanding sheets and I've seen that the DIY stores do replacements (non B&D if you want a cheaper option) that will fit this tool. There was also a small black bag to put it in which is good for keeping all the parts together. The mouse is quite light and the lead is a good length (I did have to plug it into an extension lead for some jobs) so you can use it just about everywhere. This is a useful tool from B&D and if you like to do little jobs around the house yourself then it's a good thing to have with your tools

I ordered this product last fall and although it may work well I do not know because it wired for European electrical system rather than North American - not the fault of the seller, but it would be helpful of items were more easily identifiable as international.
