Did you ever wonder how acupuncture works? This book strips away the mystery. Each acupuncture point has unique functions, which are explained in plain English for the non-acupuncturist. PLEASE SEE MY BOOK, ' Acupressure Made Simple ' for recommended points to treat different ailments. How to do acupressure effectively to treat yourself. ---- The companion guide, with more details on how to acupressure can help many issues is: Acupressure Made Simple. Acupuncture treats pain, stress, fatigue, emotional disorders, insomnia, digestive problems, and many internal disorders. Review: Excellent Book, but faulty Kindle edition. - I bought this as a guide to use with an acupressure pen. Covers each of 400 odd points on the body, where it is and what it's for. So far working with the pen, it's helping me a lot. I needed to buy the physical book. As the one down side is the index on the kindle edition fails to work right. Only the first 4 chapters are searchable. for some reason the data in the charts is excluded. So only the print book index will help you find the points for sciatica, for example. I SENT THE KINDLE EDITION BACK! Review: Super - I frequently dip into this book for tips and ideas, I am not a professional but have a lay person interest in this subject, the book has some really valuable information and provides a good insight into the correlation between illness and it's manifestation throughout the body. Often treatment will be for an area seemingly unrelated to the illness but the under lying cause will provoke an imbalance that affects various parts of the body. I highly recommend this book, if you are studying or have an interest in acupuncture

Technical language
Whilst the book is informative, the pressure positions are very anatomical. For example: "at the lower border of the zygomatic arch, or cheekbone, in the depression in front of the condyloid process of the jawbone". Why explain the cheekbone element but not the jawbone? It is well presented with plenty of line diagrams. There are case studies and advice to seek professional help etc.

This book is brilliant.
I hummed and haaad about getting this book for ages. I'm glad I went for it in the end, it's absolutely marvellous. The diagrams are easy, the instructions are easy. It's digestible, it's organised, it's consistent and cohesive. It can stand alone but it works brilliantly with other modalities. I'm using it to augment some training that I'm doing and I'm finding everything much easier with the assistance of this very well laid out book. It's a dream.

A good quick guide to main acupuncture/acupressure points on meridian lines
I purchased this book because I want to learn about meridian and holistic ways to heal and treat the body. The book is well organized and shows the main acupuncture/acupressure points that can be stimulated along the meridians and the effects they have. It is well illustrated with precise and reliable drawings that are easy to follow and go back to for reference. It is a solid introduction to acupuncture points that can also be applied to acupressure, body tapping etc.

Very Simple book on Acupunture Points
This book has many good illustrations and drawings showing the locations of the acupoints. However each point is referred by their conventional reference nos rather than by names. We address each point here by their names, hence need to use another acupunture book for cross reference. More values could be enhanced into this book by: 1. Showing the big picture of meridians of the body in a chart. 2. Good to have the names of the acupoints next to their reference no. eg: LI4 Hegu. Or a reference list of acupoints and their names at end of book. 3. An anatomy chart since vertebrae, and bones are mentioned. I will not recommend my friend to buy this book.
