Solved 5 years of interrupted sleep in the first night!!
I ordered this for our 5 year old daughter who was a terrible sleeper. We were at our wits end as bedtime and sleeping have been a trauma for the whole family ever since she moved from her cot to her bed at the age of 3. She is terrified of being alone upstairs and will wake up numerous times during the night and climb in to bed with my husband and I. We would have to sit with her waiting for her to go to sleep as she didn't want to be alone in her room and would literally scream in fear of being alone. This meant that my husband and i would to take turns each evening sitting with her and inevitably falling asleep ourselves by the foot of her bed to get her off to sleep. I read books on sleep, invested in countless night lights and even tried a reward system (ie bribes!!) - she loves dinosaurs, and her collection is now second to none, but this had no impact on her sleeping pattern. I came across the turtle by chance, and I read the reviews which mostly seemed very positive and thought it was worth a shot (desperate to try anything really!). She picked the colour she liked and was very excited about receiving it. It arrived within a day or two and unusually with batteries included and installed. Already a good sign! My daughter loves that the turtle is soft and cuddly despite its hard shell, he snuggles up to her every night. Night one - my husband took her up, read a story, turned off the lights and switched on the turtle. It lights up the room really nicely but isn't bright at all, just lovely soft hues (amber green and blue). He stayed with her for 5 minutes, then left the room while she was still awake with the promise of returning to check on her 5 mins later, which he did. He repeated this 3 times, by the third visit she was fast asleep. NOT ONE TEAR WAS SHED!! She stayed in her own bed all night..!! We thought it must be beginners luck, but.. Night two - same as night one, but this time she was asleep on the 2nd check up Night three, 4 and 5 - only one check up required, she just goes straight to sleep after story and lights out. We are blown away by how effective this has been for us! Its a miracle in our book! We love the turtle, so cute and cuddly, fantastic projection of real constellation of stars on the ceiling, it is a GREAT product, can't recommend highly enough!

Well made, well designed, brilliant product.
I did a lot of research before buying this as I already have a few nightlights for my baby but they each have their issues, mainly battery life and mechanical noises. The Cloud B Turtle is perfection. The plastic shell and plush toy are high quality materials and are very well made. I was a bit worried at first when I saw the teeny tiny 3 individual colour LED's, but they really do kick out loads of light. The stars are actually star shape when they hit the walls and ceiling, not just fuzzy blobs. The way the lights transition from colour to colour is a really lovely effect. The constellations are a brilliant touch and looking forward to when baby is old enough to look at them and learn. There are no mechanical noises. It shuts itself off after 40 minutes which is more than ample time for baby to fall asleep, this also keeps the batteries going for a long time. It takes standard AA batteries, which I was pleasantly surprised about being included, and once they die I will use re-chargable ones that will last a lifetime in the turtle! I have nothing negative to say about this product, even the box it came in was well made and beautifully designed making it ideal to give as a gift. This is just one of the those products that works so well it makes you want to take the time to write an Amazon review.

Wasn't convinced but now a BIG FAN....
My review is in 2 parts - initial thoughts and 10 days later.... FIRST IMPRESSIONS... Bad stuff... - constellation booklet isn't in English. - colours don't change automatically - you have to press the individual buttons to get a colour change which is a bit rubbish and deliberate. - the screw head to the battery unit was badly damaged. - the batteries included were flat. - the plush cover to the battery compartment is not very secure - it only fixes on 2 sides so little fingers could easily turn the item on or off although the batteries are completely secure. - the unit is bright when the lights are on - I guess it needs to be to see the stars but it does light her room up!! Good stuff... - its cute! - stars are very soft and clear - and lots of them! - battery compartment very secure. I'm not overly impressed at the moment, especially as Madam didn't even like it! She's 20 months and going through a clingy at bed time stage.... TEN DAYS LATER>>>> Bedtime has been revolutionarised! I'm amazed. Used in conjunction with the Gro-Clock, we are now at a happy stage when we go to bed. Much of the issue (in hindisight) I think, was due to to the fact that we only have 6-7pm together during the week as both my husband and I are full time at work. I especially had started to 'rush' that time, keen to get on and get 'stuff done'. I wasn't making bedtime safe and secure - but the turtle has really helped focus me in on that and we have made bedtime into a really special ritual finished by counting the stars (only up to 10 at the moment or we'd be there all night!) and singing 'Twinkle Twinkle'.... My daughter now asks for 'Turtle' and it has allowed me to differentiate to her what toys are for bedtime. It's helped with night-time wakings (now down to occasional one rather than 8 or so...!) - I just put Turtle on, give her a quick cuddle and say 'sleepytime' - and she's gone. The stars are really clear and they're everywhere! I'm sure - perhaps? That it's partly coincidental and probably more to do with our structuring of bedtime but Turtle seems to have helped bring safety, security and snuggliness back to bedtimes - and for that, I'm very grateful. OVERALL? Only rated now 4 stars due to my initial comments. It would be 5 stars if the colours could change themselves rather than the clunky buttons and the little finishing touches.

A lovely display of stars!
I looked at several star lights and night lights before settling on this one based on the strength of previous reviews. My little boy was going through a fear of the dark phase and I needed something he would enjoy. This is super product! The star show lights up the room with lots of beautiful stars in either orange, blue or green. The green is my personal favourite as its so soothing. There is a built in timer which automatically switches off the unit after 45mins. This means you dont have to risk waking your little one to go in and turn it off. What I really like is that the stars are organised into real constellations. A little booklet is provided to help you to identify them and includes a lovely little story. The first night I tried it my little boy went from sobbing at bedtime as he didn't like the dark, to leaping into bed to look at the stars and the moon. We have used it every night since - and at naptime - and the batteries are still going strong. Yes, its pricier than others on the market, but in my opinion it is well worth the extra money for the quality product you will receive. Recommended.

Absolutey brilliant!
A wonderful idea and I wish I had bought one sooner. I have been looking for a light that projects images onto the walls and ceiling for a while now and this is brilliant. My little girls 4 and 2 yrs absolutely love it. You can choose from three colours green, blue and amber and the room is filled with stars and a moon. As other reviews have said it works best in a very dark room and the image is much sharper if you can get it close to the ceiling. I place the kids turtle on their bedside table and they dont seem to mind that the stars are a little bit blurry. It has an automatic shut off timer after 45 minutes which is just long enough for my two to drift off. I tend to put it on again if I see to them during the night. The only problem I have is that they fight over which colour to have on ! Im thinking of getting the ladybird also so they can have one each. Well worth the money. Would recommend.

So disappointed, I really expected a better product at this price point.
I like the fact it came with factory fitted batteries, and I love the concept. Unfortunately I’m sad to say that this Cloud B Twilight Turtle is a total disappointment. As soon as you get it out of the packaging the whole thing feels cheap. The lower section is half plush turtle, and the upper section is a large hollow plastic shell, with a printed turtle shell pattern and some tiny holes in the shapes of stars and a moon. The battery cover is accessed from below, and is covered by a Velcro plush flap. If you look through one of the star holes you can see that the LED module is mounted against the inside of the battery holder area, with three coloured LED’s. It has a four buttons on the top, one to turn it on and one for each of the colours, it comes with a very basic couple of lines of instruction. My understanding is that the unit should turn on and cycle through the various colours smoothly and turn itself off after 45minutes, unless you manually select a specific colour with one of the three colour buttons. Unfortunately the unit I had only rarely scrolled smoothly – most of the time it jerked between darkness and a solid colour, with apparently random duration of darkness at various intervals – just see the video I’ve posted. My honest opinion is that from the moment you open the box nothing about this feels like it’s worth the £25+ being asked for. It feels like market stall junk and seems to perform accordingly. So disappointed, I really expected a better product at this price point.

Wonderful little gadget
Our son loves looking at the stars at bedtime and I love the fact that the stars do not move around and therefore it is more calming than night lights with moving pictures. I have noticed that our baby gets all hyped up when looking at moving images and we prefer to have that during the day. The light is very soft and comes in three shades - green, blue and amber (the latter one being quite weak). The only contra is that you need a certain angle to really enjoy the stars. Otherwise the stars are out of shape (not so much a problem for a baby but it can be irritating for your sense of uniformity). :D All in all, a wonderful little item to make your baby comfortable, no matter where you are, as you can easy take it with you.

Cool!
