Well made, well designed, brilliant product.
I did a lot of research before buying this as I already have a few nightlights for my baby but they each have their issues, mainly battery life and mechanical noises. The Cloud B Turtle is perfection. The plastic shell and plush toy are high quality materials and are very well made. I was a bit worried at first when I saw the teeny tiny 3 individual colour LED's, but they really do kick out loads of light. The stars are actually star shape when they hit the walls and ceiling, not just fuzzy blobs. The way the lights transition from colour to colour is a really lovely effect. The constellations are a brilliant touch and looking forward to when baby is old enough to look at them and learn. There are no mechanical noises. It shuts itself off after 40 minutes which is more than ample time for baby to fall asleep, this also keeps the batteries going for a long time. It takes standard AA batteries, which I was pleasantly surprised about being included, and once they die I will use re-chargable ones that will last a lifetime in the turtle! I have nothing negative to say about this product, even the box it came in was well made and beautifully designed making it ideal to give as a gift. This is just one of the those products that works so well it makes you want to take the time to write an Amazon review.

Bedtime routine staple
We bought ours back in March 2017 when our 20 month old (at the time) started to be afraid of the dark and would wake in the night worried about shadows and shapes in her room. We worked it into our bedtime routine, as we turned off lamps, Tortoise goes on and we’d sit and watch the moon and stars together until we said goodnight and its still a firm favourite with our now 3 year old. It beautifully lights the bedroom enough but not too much. Blue and green are bright enough to light the whole room and amber is more dim to fall asleep to. It’s beautifully made, smooth plastic shell and plush underbelly and casts great stars over the whole room. For best results you’d have to place it high in the centre of the room, (who’s got shelves there?) but eventually we all realised that we just loved the splatter of stars and the changing colours setting is lovely to watch too. A great buy and still going strong. Turns off after 45 mins too. Will be buying another for second child now.

Wonderful, wonderful night light with fringe benefits
I couldn't be happier with this. I bought it for a baby with some sight problems, because I was looking for something to stimulate his vision, with strong contrasting colours but without overstimulating sounds. This met that requirement perfectly, and had surprising multi-purpose uses for a household that also includes a toddler. At night it sheds a pleasing, not-too-harsh light around a room in its three set colour options of red and black (the strongest), or blue, or purple. The star-shaped holes in the ladybird's plastic back reflect entrancing stars onto any surface they can reach. The baby loves the red and black, and the toddler loves the purple, so it's been in demand as a nightlight at different times of the evening, from day one. During the day it's alternately a sight-stimulus for the baby, held right up close to touch and look at, reflecting the stars onto Mum's face and clothes. It's tactile, too: the back is hard plastic but the limbs and head are soft to touch. When not in use as a teaching tool, it's a toy for the toddler who loves pressing the buttons that change its colour; literally, everyone's happy. It is fair to agree with the reviewers who point out that the light isn't really strong enough to put stars clearly on very high ceilings. But still, I'm pretty confident that no one who's seen this lovely nightlight in action much cares. It isn't cheap but for me it was worth every penny to give such a useful and lovely gift.

So disappointed, I really expected a better product at this price point.
I like the fact it came with factory fitted batteries, and I love the concept. Unfortunately I’m sad to say that this Cloud B Twilight Turtle is a total disappointment. As soon as you get it out of the packaging the whole thing feels cheap. The lower section is half plush turtle, and the upper section is a large hollow plastic shell, with a printed turtle shell pattern and some tiny holes in the shapes of stars and a moon. The battery cover is accessed from below, and is covered by a Velcro plush flap. If you look through one of the star holes you can see that the LED module is mounted against the inside of the battery holder area, with three coloured LED’s. It has a four buttons on the top, one to turn it on and one for each of the colours, it comes with a very basic couple of lines of instruction. My understanding is that the unit should turn on and cycle through the various colours smoothly and turn itself off after 45minutes, unless you manually select a specific colour with one of the three colour buttons. Unfortunately the unit I had only rarely scrolled smoothly – most of the time it jerked between darkness and a solid colour, with apparently random duration of darkness at various intervals – just see the video I’ve posted. My honest opinion is that from the moment you open the box nothing about this feels like it’s worth the £25+ being asked for. It feels like market stall junk and seems to perform accordingly. So disappointed, I really expected a better product at this price point.

I had been eyeing these since we had our first child, who is now 5. His little brother, who is 2 1/2 has been suddenly having issues with going to bed - scared of monsters, ghosts, you name it. He started getting out of bed 2 - 3 times each night after we put him down, and not sleeping until 2 hours or more past his bedtime. I was going to get the turtle for him for Christmas, but decided we needed it now. And it has actually helped him stay in bed. The first night, we all lay and sat as a family in the boys' room and looked at the stars together. Now we put him in his bed, turn the turtle on, kiss him and that's that. It was between this and one of those Dream Lites, but those are made by the Pillow Pet people and seem so cheap in comparison. (I've had to fix stitching in Pillow Pets a few times, and the plush fabric on them is not the nicest.) Plus the Dream Lites only put stars straight up on the ceiling. This puts stars all over the room. If it's in the middle of the room, it will project stars on every wall and the ceiling. Our son's bed is by a wall, so it doesn't reach the far wall, but projects enough on 3 walls and the ceiling so that both boys can enjoy the stars. It turns itself off after 45 minutes - brilliant!! My husband likes that since he doesn't have to change batteries constantly. And you can change the color of the stars, although our guy always chooses blue, which he calls purple. I don't know why people complain about the hard shell, because if the shell were plush, um, the plush piling would block the stars. It's a beautiful product, excellent quality and now our 5 year old wants one too. I wouldn't hesitate to get this for my kid or another child. Oh, and I did mention it comes with a constellation guide for the star pattern it projects. Our boys love to point out Orion's belt! It's actually educational too - bonus!
