Best mic
My old sm58 started to lose power volume after years of service so I went for this upgrade. Great mic for my singing in a rock band. I would change the design of the box, but the mic is pure quality

crystal clear vocals
Excellent microphone to replace my old sennheisser. My daughter recommended it and oh what a difference. Mind you my old mic was about 15 years old or more!

Could not believe the change
I do pub gigs all over essex and was using my bassist’s older mic. Did a lot of research for the type of gig and set-up for my band. This mic has been a game changer. Absolutely excellent sound, clear and crisp and bang on the money for me. Especially for smaller gigs in tight venues where the band has to squeeze together, it doesn’t pick up background noise or sound, pretty good like that, but it does mean you have to sing into the mic full on to get the benefit - moving away from the mic to turn the page for instance means you can lose some of the sound. Excellent product.

Its a Shure. The de-facto standard for live band performance. The SM58 beta is better than the standard SM58, it's clearer and has improved feedback rejection. You can maybe find mics that are better for your voice, and studio recording is another field entirely, but as a starting position for live work you can't go much wrong.

Best microphone I've ever used
Clarity is crystal clear, I've used sm58s for years and always put off buying a beta but I'm so glad I finally got one!

I've been looking for an XLR mic that I could use with my Smule Karaoke Sing app in conjunction with an iRig-pre adapter. Seems like overkill, I know but it's really not. Be patient and hear me out. Let me explain. First, I cannot sing into a pair of earbuds. They still sound good but they don't feel right. A handheld or standup mic is always the way to go. Now, in order to use these apps you have to have an earbud or wired headphones so you can hear the music. You can't really plug into an external speaker and listen to the music while singing into the app with standard headphones or mics.. Doing so will cause severe sound distortion as the mic picks up sound coming from the external speakers which then gets picked up by the mic and then then gets transmitted back to speakers again, which the mic then picks up again. It's a continuing cycle of snowballing distortion. However, there are times I WANT to use an external speaker so that I can use the app to perform as if it were a stand alone karaoke machine. This IS the only mic (of this acoustic and build quality) that allows me to that. Why? Because it does a very good job of only picking up your voice coming out of your mouth. You can increase the volume of the external speakers to a reasonably high volume and the mic won't pick it up. There is hardly any distortion depending on how loud the external speaker is. I initially got the SM58 but it was a little to muddled and bassy for my voice type so I returned it for this based on reviews. I don't regret it...pricey yes, but it's a long term investment which will gives many years of pleasure and satisfaction as it beats the SM 58 in sound quality and external sound isolation. You can hear and assess the sound quality of this mic for yourself, utilizing the aforementioned setup with no headphones, using an external speaker/monitor only, by listening to some of the songs I've done using this mic on Smule Sing karaoke app profile name @RichPaterno. You can also just go the Smule.com website and search for my profile name and click on the MOST RECENT videos tab where I have used this mic. It has the most gorgeous sound OMG!
