Grea5 for herbal tea infusions
Great for herbal teas. Stainless steel filter had a fine enough grade (size holes) to capture all the little bits, but still give decent water flow for a nice flavour

Nearly the best way to brew loose tea
I drink premium loose tea, and I've long looked for the best way to brew it. Initially, a couple of decades ago, I used paper filters; you put the tea in them, pour the water over them, then through it all away when you're finished. But that's a waste of paper, and it's not ideal if you want to make a second brew with the same leaves. Then I tried the many metal filters that you put into a cup, but you need another cup or saucer to hold them when you take them out of your cup, and those filters don't always fit easily into a teapot. This offers a good compromise: a metal filter that stays in the pot, plus the clever way of isolating the leaves after you've finished steeping them. This means the tea doesn't oversteep when you leave the leaves in the pot, and you can easily do a second steep by removing the plunger and adding water. The only problem with a pot like this is that the tea gets cold very quickly. I've never found a good teapot that keeps tea warm, so I use this to make about a cup and a half worth when at work, and it's warm enough when I get to the end. If it were somehow insulated, it would get five stars. (Note that I'm using the .5 liter model; I assume it's the same for the larger ones, but the temperature issue might be even more important if you're making a liter or more of tea, since you're not likely to serve it all at once.)

Chinese tea pot
I bought this especially to brew Chinese green tea, to which I am a recent convert. This particular version has a stainless steel filter which doesn't affect the delicate flavour of green tea. The glass pot pours easily without dripping and the plastic handle is cool and a comfortable shape and size. The plunger inside the filter can be used to halt the brewing process by pushing fully down to exclude the water from the tea leaves. I put fresh green tea leaves into the pot in the morning and by replenishing the water level as required the pot will provide refreshing tea throughout the day. The pot looks attractive and it's interesting to see how the tea changes colour from pale green to brown. This size of pot brews sufficient for two or three persons, although I find this size also practical for brewing tea just for me. Recommended.

A well made product as I would expect from Bodum. Easy to use and clean. The stainless steel filter highly recommended.

My son gifted me a tin of early grey loose tea leaves and I considered a tea-ball, but then decided to try an infusion press as I'd once had at a tea house. This has been the perfect tea press for 1-2 cups of my afternoon tea. It is very easy to use; just add tea leaves to the infusion bin, pour the desired amount of boiling water from a kettle, push the plunger after your desired brew time (typically 3-4 min), and pour to a tea cup/mug. The Bodum press provides a nice even infusion and with a glass bowl, so you can visually check on the strength of your tea over time if you're not sure about a timer setting. There was no metallic taste that I noticed from the infusion bin transferred to t he brewed tea. Cleanup was fairly easy (getting all the tea leaves out of the bin was easier with a spoon than without). The glass bowl doesn't seem fragile, but it also doesn't seem like it would survive a four foot drop (like a lot of other glassware), so handle with care. Overall I'm very satisfied with this little tea press (they have bigger sizes if you're serving a party of four) and would highly recommend it.
