Assassin's Creed Origins Gods Collector's Edition (PS4)

Ignoring the 'troll" post of 1 - who seems to have given every version of this game 1 star and the same bad feedback on all the versions of the game (Xbox and PS4) plus a host of other games. I will continue with my genuine review.I got my edition about 3pm (Royal Mail on release day) and did not get a chance to play it until 10pm that evening due to other chores, nice to see it arrived on the day!The game graphics are highly detailed, and plays differently to the previous Assassins Creed, no "treasure chests" as such, but pressing and holding the "^" key on the controller will activate the scan to reveal hidden objects, these can be chests, statues, various shaped boxes or receptacles and you then use the 'triangle' key when next to them to loot to get coins or rewards. The options key brings up the main inventory, quest, skill tree, gear tree etc, and you can use R1/L1 to scroll across the options. Graphics and camera to me caused no problems and it soon felt natural, the fighting sequences are far better and using R1/L1/R2./L2 to swing, block etc. The characters also are very well detailed and in a lot of cases appear so well done it is in effect a movie.Another nice touch is the Eagle used, which allows you to switch to the eagle flying constantly, control it up/down and steer its flight path to seek adversaries, or things to loot, it allows you to mark objects so your main character can then ride or run to that location to interact with. Most of the main controls for this are the four main cross keys <> and ^V. Which includes whistling to cause enemies to investigate and calling your mount.Once your eagle has locked onto the thing you are looking for you can use "circle" to return back to your main character to then head over to that location to continue your quest. I have only played the game for 2 hours tonight, but will update my review as I get further into the game.All in all, this is great game, and well worth the money, for the Gods Edition, you get a nice book with art, CD Rom of the music, map of the game area, 2 extra missions/add on's with the codes printed on, the main game and the lovely statue (each version from Gods upwards has a different statue) The Gold Edition has the season pass and deluxe pack, the Deluxe Editionhas no season pass but comes with the map, and CD)Is the entire package worth the £90 price tag?, in my opinion yes, however do remember there is NO season pass with this particular set, so do take this extra cost into account if choosing this version, but even without the Season Pass, it is still very good value for money- I have already bought my copy of that now so have that base covered.The statue is well worth the cost as it is beautifully modelled and detailed, the map (which is folded) I agree would be nice on an old style parchment paper and would make it more authentic however it does do the job and show you the complete game area.The audio CD Rom is in a cardboard sleeve which makes it more environmentally friendly and whilst a plastic case would be nicer, it does not affect the overall quality. Finally the book of art, is compact and well put together and worth having to compliment the set. In my instance I work in computers and answer random surveys from a computer research firm, each survey completed can earn me £3 to £5 worth of Amazon gift vouchers (These are emailed to me by the unique "Amazon Gift Card Code" a week later and one I had was for £9), by the time I placed the order for this, I had collected nearly £70 in vouchers, and when it was finally shipped I had another £30 in the voucher fund, so ended up not paying anything from my credit card/debit card and still having £10 left.Each version of this game comes with different items so check carefully what you get as part of the package.Remember YOU DO NOT get the Season Pass with the Gods Collector Edition - so you will need to pay approximately £32 for the digital code, the Season Pass is only with the "Gold Edition" at £69.99, "Dawn of the Creed" at £119.99 and "Dawn of the Creed Legendary - Do not faint here as this one is £699.99 the reason for the price is the statue is numbered and also in resin - rather than plastic" [wonder how many of these they will sell] - both the last two editions are not available on Amazon, so Gods Collector is the top one they sell.

AC origins is an incredible game, loved it from second I started playing all the way to the end. The collectors edition has a quality statue of bayek on the goddess head, it's a really nice design and top quality built statue, you also get a soundtrack with the game, cobra skin dlc and first piramid and there is a nice map aswell, the outer box is a really cool design and the game is just incredible. It's the first of the assassins creed Rpg series and it was one of the best in the series, you follow bayek who is the creator of the assassins brotherhood known as the hidden ones originally, he's wife aya is also a founding member and they build the order together from a tragedy that causes them to become assassins hunting down their prey.The game is vast open world of Egypt and is in first century when ptolemy was the pharaoh of Egypt, you meet alot of interesting characters once again who are historically accurate with fiction aswell,The likes of cleopatra and the mythological gods of Egypt.It was a mix of combat and stealth but the combat has been refind from previous AC titles and is much more fluid and challenging now without the kill combos, there is light attacks and heavy attacks with blocking and dodging movements and also for the first time you have a shield aswell which is very handy, you can still parry an attack with a well placed press of the button but don't expect to just kill enemies strait away unless using hidden blade and bow and arrow combat, it's much more versatile then the original AC games and the map is a big area of land in Egypt, also you can use horses and chariots to traverse the terrain to get from A to be with view points being present like in earlier games. It is by far one of the best and most groundbreaking AC games ever released. It changed the AC games and the way they played.

Do not buy, rip off

Although it was well packaged, the inner content came with a fault. The figure (that came in original package) had a broken piece (as seen on the photos). It couldn`t have been damaged in the transport because it was protected by a PVC layer around the figure, so it must have been damaged before and sold like that.I would say the item was wrongly described as I would not describe it in very good condition and as such would not buy it (at least not at the price listed).
