I was looking for a highly rated and reliable dual dry food cat feeder and everywhere. I looked kept recommending this one. I went back and forth about whether or not I wanted to upgrade for the camera and I'm so glad I did. It has become a ritual even when I'm not there with the cats to check in on them during meal times. I also love that I can record a voice message so they listen for my voice and know it's time to eat. And of course I saw all those cute videos of cats listening for the sound and then running to their bowl and I was so hopeful that mine would do that and they do! It really is so sweet. As for this particular feeder, I am overall very impressed. The app was really intuitive and has been extremely reliable. The camera quality is decent as well and switches from black and white to color. Depending on the time and light. I would say the food dispenses a little less evenly than I would prefer. Sometimes it seems like more goes in one side than the other, but my cats do not hoard food so it ends up working out fine. I did have to do a little research to figure out how much to be feeding them because it was a little unclear but there are resources available to help you figure it out. I really am pleased with this purchase and I'm going to be looking at this brand for other smart cat tech in the future.

Have to give couple weeks to see how it goes but so far cats don’t have problems with it. I got the double bowl and camera with 5L. I would definitely get the bigger one 5L. Have to see how long that last with 2 cats. The camera works and is free no subscription required unless you want backup online. Other reviews make it sound like you have to get subscription to see camera. You get live view and notification for free. The amount of cat food dispensed starts at 1/12 of a cup. That very small amount, so you want 1 cup you have to set the app to 12/12. The app lets to set up to 4 cups of food to be dispensed at 1 time. Racoon proof first night. I have raccoons that come on porch at night eat left over cat food. So with the feeder I set to only put out as much food as the cats will eat. The thing holds like 8 pounds of cat food. The raccoons were looking at the feeder but have not tried to get inside or knock top off. The top cover were you fill it up has lock. I believe the dispenser is can’t be reached with paws. Update- Had it for 5 days and I tried dispensing 2 cups in morning and it’s to much food at one time. I got warning about clogged dispenser chute. That was not problem because the cat eat the food in bowls and the extra food fell into bowls. Now I just dispense 1 cup 6:30am. The cats eat that and dispense another 1/2 cup(6/12 cup in app) at 8:30am. Then dispense 1/2 cup at 2 pm and 1/2 cup at 6:30pm. That’s 4 events per day. In the app you can have up to 6 feeding per day. The 2 bowl 5L uses the PETLIT PRO app(there is lite version for other feeders) the Pro app has many settings and notifications you can turn off if you want. Feeding two cats I can probably get 5-7 day with the 5L unit. I should have filled it up to very top first time. I had another stray cat showed up and I did manual feed for him from app. It did disconnect from WiFi 2 time for about 1 hour but it reconnected automatically. I had two firmware updates from the app also. The camera has lots of white out in daytime.

The unit dispenses food on a schedule. It has a decent sized hopper for food. Those really are the most important things--and it does those things well. But, you pay for other features. The video worked for a couple of weeks and has never worked again. I bought the feeder because I was headed out of town for a couple of weeks. I wanted to make sure one particular cat was eating. I worked for that trip. But, never again. That's one issue. Next issue--dispensing. Their idea of a two-bowl feeding system where gravity pulls the food across a plastic diver tossing the food into two different bowls. Absolutely USELESS. The right bow always gets only about a third of what's dispensed in the left bowl. It's just stupid and a very stupid design. Next issue--the mobile app. IT TOTALLY SUCKS!! OMG. The ads cannot be turned off. I DON'T WANT TO USE YOUR CLOUD SERVICES TO STORE VIDEOS!!! There should be a way to turn it off permanently. I OWN the feeder. Leave me alone. In addition, configuration and set up is a pain. Why do I have to tie feeding to how many pets I have? I know how much food they eat--that's how much I want to dispense across the feeding schedule. I don't need anything more complicated than that. I'll be looking for another unit--this one was a mistake, and had I had time to send it back and choose a different unit, I would have. The end of the year was crazy busy. Ignore the ratings and trust that this unit disappoints--you're going to be frustrated.

A couple months ago, the camera stopped working. So I reset the thing. Took me a bit to figure that out, and the reset feature is faulty. Had to try several times to get it to reconnect to our wifi. I was very excited when it finally took and the camera started working again. BUT, since then, it won’t keep a feeding schedule. So now every night I have to reset the schedule for the next day because the buttons just turn off. This is getting very old, and I am thinking about purchasing another from another company which is a shame because I really like this one. It worked fine for the first few months. I like the interface and I think it’s one of the more attractive feeders out there. I keep hoping for a software update that can fix the issue, but perhaps I’m the only one experiencing this. I might try and email the company if I can find the address in their manual. For now, I will keep resetting the schedule every evening until I finally lose my patience. 10/14 - Soooo, I think they did an update that addressed this issue because there's an option available that wasn't present before. Now, when I look at the schedule settings, there's an option to repeat. I noticed that it said "never" right below the schedule. So, when I clicked through to the set up module, I see that it has options for repeat. "Never" is one, and it has a couple other options, "Everyday" and "Custom" (what ever that means). Because I didn't hesitate to choose, Everyday. And, now it works! So, I brought the stars up to 4. Now if the camera would work, that would be great because it stopped working. It's just a swirling black hole where my kitties should be. I'll probs have to reset (reboot) the whole thing to get that to work. I was successful doing this once because it stopped working before. Will update again when I do this.

This feeder works well overall and does exactly what I need feeding my pet on schedule when I’m not home. The portion sizes seem consistent and setup was pretty easy. Still, it’s very convenient and saves me a lot of stress. I’d recommend it!

It works, it drops the food on schedule. The software is buggy though, video playback issues (even downloaded videos), network errors (its not the network, generic error). It just been a frustrating experience. Yes, resetting the feeder to defaults "temporarily fixes the issue" any recording issues, the issue will return though. Its just a constant reset to defaults and re-configuring schedules every couple months or you just deal with some of the video recording quirks that buildup over time. Resetting doesn't fix all the issues, i will note: feeding video can be finicky, with some gaps in recordings. I also just tried downloading a recording to my iphone and it’s just a still video (frozen image) with full playback of just the sound for some reason. Fyi, i do not use cloud recording, all these frustrations come with trying to record to an SD card (ive also tried multiple SD cards, the ad card is not the issue).

I’m really happy with this automatic cat feeder—it’s made feeding time so much easier and more consistent. The setup was simple, and the portion control works perfectly to keep my cat on a healthy schedule. I also love the timer feature, which ensures my cat gets fed even when I’m not home. I bought this to give my cats some consistency as far as feeding time goes, but there are several problems. 1) The app isn't great, but credit to Petlibro, it's improving. It's annoying to have to randomly re-log in often. Also, the camera doesn't initialize properly sometimes (black screen) and I need to back out and click on the device again to get it working 2) The kibble constantly gets stuck in the chute. The angle of descent for the kibble just isn't steep enough and almost always gets jammed! I bought this feeder so I wouldn't have to worry about feeding my cats, but I find myself everyday manually clearing the chute with my fingers. 3) You can choose the amount of kibble dispensed in the app, which is nice, but unfortunately it's not accurate. I feed my two cats 9/12 cup twice daily, but the actual amount dispensed is roughly 25% less. This was easy enough to figure out (with a kitchen scale) and compensate for however. Still a pain though. 4) In theory, the motion and sound notifications are pretty cool. In our case however, they were constantly spamming us with notifications. Over a thousand notifications in a couple of weeks! Even on low sensitivity! Of course placement will vary in different households. Your results may be better. When everything works, it is pretty neat though tuning in and watching your cat eat! Now for the good! 1) The camera is nice and also has night mode, which works well. This camera can also double as a security device with the motion detector notifications! 2) The 2-way audio is pretty neat too. You can talk to your cats while they eat! We also use the 2-way audio at times to talk to family members across the house. 3) Unlike other reviews, we had no problem whatsoever connecting to WiFi (Software version 1.2.60) 4) Custom automatic audio meal calls are great! It took the cats no time to adjust to this. I'd like the see some improvements in the next iteration of this product. Most importantly, fixing the food jamming! The tech is nice though and with some work, future versions of this feeder could be better.

I absolutely love this product! I no longer have to wake up at 6 AM to feed my cats, and the built-in camera lets me check on them anytime. It’s a game changer!

I love it so much it really helped me feed my cats while im outside the house

Upgraded from the Aqara version, this is so, so much better, built in camera is very good quality, the app is excellent (no subscription required) and easy to use, has a decent capacity and feels durable enough. It also allows more scheduling than the Aqara brand. the biggest upgrade for me personally is the low food alerts and it works with Homey! It just works, how it should, without any hassle.
