Great series for deepening your Spanish
Loving this recent series from Olly especially as they're written in more of a (simple) text book format rather than the previous conversation based style.A great resource for those looking to be able to move to talking about their interests and other subject areas.

Great topic to read in Spanish so developing a visual knowledge of a new language.
I have lived a long time therefore I have heard a lot of music. I am struggling to learn Spanish but finding that reading Spanish gives me a visual hook, so helpful when labouring to speak. Thank you so much Olly.

A very interesting topic in intermediate Spanish
I love rock and roll music and I love learning Spanish. Put the two together and you get a very interesting read which stretches me out of my comfort zone of A2. I love Ollie’s books.

Great book!
Really interesting content. As a musician and lifetime music lover, I found this a very enjoyable read. I've learned lots of useful terms about music and popular culture. Recommended.

An engaging read
I have three from this series. I enjoyed them all. Each has the odd typo, there is an occasional mistranslation and some of the "facts" are open to debate. But I have learned a lot, so no complaints.

Great way to learn Spanish with non-fiction!
I love a good fictional story, but I have to say I've been enjoying these non-fictional stories in spanish...learning my target language AND some useful information at the same time, it's a win/win! These books are great for intermediate learners, they're not for total beginners. I'd say you have to have a good basic vocabulary already to enjoy them, otherwise you'd be look up every single word and that's not the point. Uncommon words are defined at the end of each chapter, and the chapters are short so they're easy to read.

Great Comprehensible Input from Olly, as Usual
This is a great addition to Olly's series of Spanish comprehensible input books, which range from dialogues to short stories to non-fiction. I don't listen to rock-n-roll myself but found the history and theory of rock-n-roll, a significant cultural movement in the West, to be very interesting. This book is well-written and clear. The beauty of books like this in his series is the fact that reading about a variety of topics gives one the opportunity to fill out one's vocabulary - musical instruments, music theory, cultural movements, etc. This book is highly recommended along with Olly's other books in Simple Spanish. I look forward to more diverse topics on the horizon!

It feels like this was written just for me
I love music. I love languages. I'm learning Spanish and this new book is a wonderful way for me to learn more about both. I was really (pleasantly) surprised that as well as a whirlwind history of rock music through the decades, there is actually some music theory to help people understand HOW the music works as well. I'm a musician but I most of the theory I know I have picked up incidentally so I'm looking forward to exploring that part of the book and learning both Spanish and music at the same time. This series is great. I love the way they pitch the language at a level I can almost reach and they encourage the reader just to read to try and get the gist of the story and not worry about difficult words or things we don't understand. We're encouraged to read chapters a few times until you get it (and if you get the audiobook as well you can listen as well). It's a great method and I find it really motivating.

Has It All!
Love the book! I'm an intermediate Spanish learner and this book is just right for me. The chapters are carefully and thoughtfully written and there are vocabulary words at the end of each. The chapters cover not only the music and its origins, but also the invention of sound, music theory and all about the different instruments played in rock and roll. Also included is an extensive breakdown of the music by generation. Great book!

Olly's books are getting better and better - just like my Spanish.
Olly's books have helped me improve my learning of the Spanish language. Reading is the best way to increase your vocabulary as well as learn the little connector words that make a sentence flow and make you sound more like a native. I highly recommend all of Olly's books. There are a lot of different topics so you are bound to find something you like which will make you read more and learn more.
