Great product!

Ever since I was about 6 years old, I would get a canker sore a day or two after biting my lip or cheek. It wasn’t until 40 years later, I discovered the effectiveness of L-Lysine for the “treatment” of canker sores. This product is effective for aiding in rapid healing. After recently having some dental work done, I found myself biting my cheek more often than usual, and I would take this product pro-actively to help prevent a canker sore from forming. This product seems to be effective in prevention too. I can’t speak to any benefits of the added zinc or vitamin C, but they do not seem to diminish the effectiveness of the Lysine.

My regular brand of Lysine that I have been taking for years is the Spring Valley 1000mg lysine. It does not have the added zinc and vitamin c. I ordered this brand to because of the additional vitamins & minerals. I waited to post my review until I had used the entire bottle. I can't say that I noticed any big difference. This Renew Actives lysine is not bad but with my plain Spring Valley lysine my skin usually is glowing. This Renew brand I did not notice the same effect but everything else as far as how I feel health wise was the same.

Renew Actives provides clear labeling on this Lysine product. I'm confident in what I'm taking and the ingredients. It's the exact amount of Lysine I need compared to prior brands I have used.The pills, however, are a little big but that is not a deal breaker for me. Otherwise, I'm happy to know these also contain some zinc and vitamin C in addition to Lysine. They are made in Canada and well sealed and packaged. The expiration date is way, way ahead so that's awesome 👌.

This produce is okay so far. Can't detect any noticiable difference yet. I do have to say - the tablets are pretty big (see picture). The serving size is 1-3 tablets (why such a variance??). Each tablet has 1000 mg lysine, 6 mg vitamin C, and 1 mg zinc. They don't offer a reference for daily allowance on the bottle for a safe amount to take - and for lysine, a quick Google search (not a substitute for actual medical advice) suggests 1000 mg. So 3 tablets seems on the higher end of what someone might consider taking.These tablets seem okay (though huge), but I'm skeptical of a seller that doesn't offer better guidance on doses. 3 stars - and I'm going to stick to just 1 tablet for now.

I take lysine as a preventative when I know I'm heading into an environment (snowy, sunny, reflective) that will cause a cold sore outbreak. I usually start several days ahead of time, continue throughout the trip, and end a few days after. It's my go-to preventative and it always works for me. I rarely buy straight-up L-Lysine supplements. I ordered these because of the addition of Vitamin C and Zinc which is supposed to aid in prevention and healing of cold sores. They're also non GMO and free of common allergens! As other reviewers mention, these oval tablets are large, but I had no trouble swallowing them.

I get horrible cold sores and my dr recommend that I take l-lysine daily. These have extra immune boosting vitamins as well. The pills are not gel capsules…which seems to be normal for l-lysine. Easy to swallow and no aftertaste which is a must for me. Highly recommend if you suffer from cold sores as well.
