Great Quality—Especially for Blending!
This set is a total bargain for the quality. The pastels are smooth, soft, and don’t crumble, which makes them a joy to work with. The black is perfect. But let's understand the white. I use the white for blending—it's not super opaque, which might be a downside if you're looking for bright white highlights, but it’s perfect for creating soft, pastel tones and subtle gradients. If you need a bold, pure white for strong highlights, you’ll probably want to pair this with another more opaque white pastel. But for blending and layering, this white delivers beautifully. For how I use it, it’s 5 stars all the way!

My favorite brand of pastels
Although not a common brand name in oil pastels, these are my favorite. They are really reasonabley priced, but even if they were more expensive I would choose them over other brands, I have even purchased multiple times. I have used Paul Rueben, Selenier, Faber Castell, Pentel and others. I do enjoy the higher "quality" brands, but for some reason I go back to these all the time. When it comes to opacity and "sticking" to the paper, I just love them. The size is what you would expect, the wrapping is similar to mangy pastels. But I love the texture with these. There is just something special about this brand. They are soft but not too soft, not waxy. Blendability, durability of the stick. They dont break in your hand, unless you put too much pressure of course. They are smooth but not too smooth as selenier and paul reubens can be. I am not a professional artist, just enjoy it in my free time. I think this is an amazing brand to start with, for children, and for adults that could be more advanced and want a different experience than the really expensive brands. One more thing, the colors are phenominal. The variety in the bigger sets, but also in the smaller, is incredible. I can not say enough good things about them. I wish everyone knew this secret. One note, just so you know, they do have "crumbs" but nothing like the cheaper brands. I have been using them for over two years.

Highly impressed but how lightfast are they?
First, i'm using oil pastels, and I wanted to do a base of a sunset or sunrise... This is easily accomplished, and i'm astonished.By the color payoff and blendability.... This is just a small sketch.I have a bigger picture.I would love to accomplish and just the background .. I can definitely see me using this for a finished product, but how light fast are they?Has anyone done any real testing? The blendability in the colors make this a valuable medium to work with, and the price is excellent..... This is something a real artist would sell their painting with? Will this fade after a few months?

Very nice oil pastels! Would buy these again.
Artecho 72 colors Oil pastels are really easy to work with. Very pigmented and light fast. The colors are vibrant and easy blending and shading. They are 10 x 70 mm so they feel comparable to other brands. Generous size sticks I like the color choices with this set. I would call these a medium hardness as opposed to real or too soft and not too hard. I can smudge with my finger on watercolor paper. I really like using cotton swaps for smoothing or blending the pastel colors.

Vibrant and Affordable Oil Pastels!
I recently purchased the Artecho Oil Pastels and I am thoroughly impressed with their performance. The range of vibrant colors is incredible, providing rich pigmentation that stands out beautifully on various surfaces. Whether I'm working on paper, canvas, or wood, these pastels deliver consistent and smooth application. One of the standout features is how easily they blend and layer, allowing me to create stunning gradients and intricate details with ease. Despite their affordable price, they do not compromise on quality, making them an excellent choice for both beginners and professional artists.Artecho Oil Pastels offer great value for money. Their vibrant colors, ease of use, and versatility make them a fantastic addition to any artist's collection. Highly recommend!

Really a nice set for the money
For under 50 dollars I was going to be happy with just the box even if the pastels turned out indifferent, but I was actually very happy with the set itself. The hardness is similar to Hwawon or Caran D'Arche's Neo Pastels, meaning that you could get some detail with them. I found them opaque and when coloring a broad area, they did not produce crumbs, they blended well with neighboring colors. They were not great at layering but I don't layer much in my art style and with 120 colors you probably are close to the correct color anyway. , The sticks feel substantial, and they are well wrapped. There was a nice group of greens and grays. The downside is there is no open stock and I would rather they give you a spare white or two and some extra grays instead of the neon ones.

Will buy more if still available
Not a bad price for great quality. It very smooth and blends well not waxy like some other oil pastes. I ended up buying 4 of the black and white pack.
