How well does the plastic part of the push lock hold up to heat? Planning to use these on wastegates which sits right above exhaust manifold..

Hi it holds very good . I use them on pressing equipment that gets hot due to high temperature steam injection

Will these except metal line? Lone 1/4" brake tubing?

yes it does I just checked it on 1/4" versaflex aluminum tubing from Aircraft Spruce, don't think it would hold high pressure for brake use.
