Evan-Moor Skill Sharpeners: Spell & Write, Grade 4

During the pandemic shutdown, I have tutored two third grade girls using Skill Sharpener Spell and Write workbooks. With concise instruction presenting standard English spelling, grammar, and punctuation, these texts that we have used for both grades 3 and 4 have kept the girls' attention and developed their competencies. I recommend them highly. As a retired teacher of English, mother of seven, and sometimes home school mom, I especially like the short but interesting stories and the logical presentation of material.

I've been using these spelling books for homeschooling since my son was in 2nd grade. Next, year he will be in 5th grade. These books have lots fun exercises for practicing the spelling words in each lesson. My son always enjoys these books, and is never bored with them. Each lesson starts with a history or science story that uses the spelling words. Then has a crossword puzzle or word search, and a spellamadoodle page. Also the each lesson usually includes grammar and writing exercises. Last, there is a quiz page for the spelling and grammar covered in that lesson. These are great spelling books and fun for kids.

Excellent book for Practice at home or even home-schooling. The level is suitable for 4th graders as it has simple words and some more challenging vocabulary. Bright pages and interesting short stories keep my sons attention. Love how each section has a theme that have the key spelling words used on every page. I would recommend for all children!

This book is great for assigning spelling, vocabulary and comprehension home work. Kids love it since it is easy even though on grade level.

First time using these books and I really enjoy them. My boy likes them too- I am going to get other books in different subjects.

Kids had a good time last summer using this books . Beneficial for the kids . Helped them stay busy . Small book tho.. my second grader finished the book in a couple of days .. but it was worth it tho..

Love the stories and the exercise. My son really enjoys it. It’s a nice break from all our boring curriculum.
