Three Crabs Brand Fish Sauce, 24-Ounce Bottle

This has made my Thai and Vietnamese novice cooking SO MUCH BETTER! I didn't know the type of fish sauce mattered. I had been using whatever I could find in my local grocery stores for years and it was ok. But remaking the same recipes with this fish sauce makes my food so yummy and so much more authentic tasting. The bottle is huge and will last me a very long time. I am very happy with this fish sauce.

Three Crab is the most versatile Fish Sauce to use in cooking. It has just the right amount of sweetness, saltiness and pungency without being overbearing in any area. It mixes nicely plus the nose is light and dissipates quickly but the underlying flavor is still there. it it less than half the price at an Asian market compared to how overpriced it is (and everything else) on scamazon (amazon). FYI, I also keep Red Boat fish sauce in the house as it is quite different, lot stronger, much less sweet, great for a dash to uncooked sauces and dishes.

When I read that Three Crabs was a premier brand, of course I wanted to try it. It can be difficult to find, so I checked with Amazon, but didn't want to pay such a high shipping fee. Luckily, I happened to notice it on the shelf of my local Korean market. Initially felt it was too salty, but have been using it for a while and it's fine. That doesn't mean that the non-premium brands I've bought were bad - they were just fine, as well.

I had been told that this is the best fish sauce around; recommended by Asian cooks who should know. They're right, this brand of fish sauce brings that magical umami flavor that we're all seeking.
