Checkmate in Style: Best Chess Set Ever's Modern Marvel with Quadruple Weight
The "Best Chess Set Ever," boasting new modern style pieces and an XL 4X quadruple weight, is not just a chess set; it's a fusion of elegant design and exceptional functionality. Awarded a shining five-star rating, this set elevates the classic game of chess into a stylish and tactile experience, appealing to both avid players and aesthetic connoisseurs. Right out of the box, the first thing that strikes you is the modern design of the pieces. They are sleek, with clean lines and a contemporary flair that breathes new life into the traditional game. The aesthetics of these pieces make the set not just a game but a statement piece, a work of art that's equally at home on a coffee table or in the heat of a tournament. The XL 4X quadruple weight of the pieces is a game-changer, quite literally. This added heft provides a satisfying feel in the hand, enhancing each move with a sense of importance and precision. It's the tactile equivalent of a firm handshake – confident, reassuring, and substantial. The weight also ensures stability, keeping the pieces firmly rooted on the board even in the midst of intense gameplay. The board itself is a testament to quality craftsmanship. It's durable and well-made, with a size and scale that complement the hefty pieces perfectly. The contrast between the squares is clear yet subtle, ensuring that the focus remains on the pieces and the play. In addition to its aesthetic and tactile appeal, this chess set is a nod to the timeless nature of the game. It respects the rich history of chess while bringing a fresh, modern twist that makes it relevant and appealing in a contemporary setting. TL;DR: The "Best Chess Set Ever" with its new modern style pieces and XL 4X quadruple weight is a beautifully designed and functional chess set. Its contemporary aesthetics, satisfying piece weight, and quality board earn it five stars, making it a top choice for both serious players and those who appreciate the finer things in life.

A perfectly balanced set of pieces. This is the tournament set to get!
Mighty and impressive. "Best Chess Set Ever" are not mere words of marketing puffery, this set delivers the goods with an excellent price point. The classic Staunton variant is bold and satisfying: The King is large, stately, and stable. The Queen rightly stands tall and elegant next to the King, with a crown of sharp menace. The Bishop's mitre seems to burn with a supernatural flame. The Knight appears wild and fierce with it's flying mane. The Rook is as stout and imposing as it's power would suggest, and is not just slightly taller than the pawn. The soulful pawn is well proportioned and sits as an anchor on their base. The mass of a whole 4x set sits just on the edge of "too large" for practical portability. Depending on your own preference, (and for me) the included 20x20 board might seem just a little too cramped of a battlefield for this set. Luckily, my 22x22 board provides almost the perfect proportion of space to suit my eye. The pieces are noticeably hefty and satisfying to hold. I also enjoy the rich, off-white color of the light pieces. No spoilers, but the little touches of detail were fun to find and appreciate. Effort was seen to the rule booklet and is appreciable, even if you don't need the book. When OTB with this set, even if your opponent crushes you, you might be consoled knowing that you'll at least look great in the process

Quality box, pieces, coloring. It’s a really nice set.
Really a nice set. Weighted pieces feel good. Color and feel of plastic is quality. It’s well worth the asking price. If you are on the fence, do it.

The King Has A Cross in His Crown That Actually Looks Like A Cross Not Some Obscure Deformity!
I grew up playing with the Staunton Design where the King has a REAL AND CLEAR CROSS IN THE CROWN not some obscure deformity like most of the chess sets on the market. This chess set has an Authentic King and all the other pieces are beautifully designed as well. However, ChessHouse.com has the best looking king on the market. I bought a set from them that is identical with the one I have growing up. It is plastic and weighted. TheBestChessSetEver has the Silicone Board which is much more versatile than the cheap vinyl boards that have been around for decades. This chess set is great! The Silicone Board has a slight odor. The odor will subside if you leave it outside for a couple of days. The Silicone Board is nice and big (20" x 20") and is very flexible and waterproof. You can eat and drink while playing with no worries of any damage to the board or pieces. The pieces are Quad-Weighted so they are nice and heavy. You can play outside and not worry about the wind blowing the pieces off the board. I really like this chess set!

High-Quality Chess Set with a Portable Silicone Board
purchased this chess set, and overall, I’m quite satisfied with it. The size of the board and pieces is perfect, and the details on the figures are well-crafted, giving the set a quality and elegant look. However, there is one aspect that I didn’t like very much: the material of the board. It is made of silicone (or a similar material), which makes it flexible and portable, but it also has some downsides. For instance, it tends to attract lint and dust easily. Additionally, the pieces don’t slide smoothly as they would on a board made of vinyl or wood, which can affect the playing experience, especially for those used to making quick moves. Despite this, the set remains a great option for playing at home or taking it to different places without worrying about damage to the board. If the manufacturer offered a version with a more traditional material, it would be even better. In conclusion, this is a high-quality chess set with an attractive design and a convenient size, but the board’s material could be improved to enhance the overall playing experience.

Fine enough set, but some real caveats on both the 4X and the 3X sets
I'll start with the good about the 4X weighted set (I bought and returned both the 3X and the 4X for reasons below). The 4X weighted set: heavy pieces, nice color, looked like a nice board (for silicone), and under the right circumstances, I'd have kept it. But I didn't because of the bad about it part. The bad part is that when I took the pieces out of the box to check out my new horses, BIG LETDOWN. The knights shown in the photo (see screenshot attached) for the 4X pieces are NOT the knights you will receive. They are not the Arabian style with the wild mane. They are the same horses you'd receive with the 3X weighted. So I didn't even undo the rest. I paid more $$ for the right knight, so back the 4X went, and I downgraded to the 3X. I never even took the board out, or I'd have found the problem that would have resulted in my return of the 3X set. Now about the 3X set... What's good about it: it costs less than the 4X set and there's no disappointment about the knight. Hard stop there, however. The color is a bright, plasticey white (not as nice as the 4X set), and much to my chagrin, I found out on the second go-round that neither are magnetic. So why did I think it was magnetic? Well, for the same reason I thought that I was getting the cool knights with the 4X set - the product information given. Hello, seller, fix that, please. In this case, the question "How do these pieces compare to typical magnetic chess pieces?" and answer is very misleading. Perhaps because I review contracts and parse words, the lack of clarity was more obvious to me. IDK, but when I read that Q&A, I thought that these were then "atypical magnetic chess pieces", heavier, etc., but also magnetic because never did the respondent say "oh, well, first of all, these are not magnetic, is a big reason they're different - they're different because they're not magnetic". A sentence along those lines would have been really, really helpful to me since I wanted a magnetic set (just starting to play and cats - magnetic is a must). So my misunderstanding, but hopefully, if you're reading this review, and you thought the set was magnetic, then you can save yourself the trouble. The 3X set was, IMO, more meh than the 4X set. Overall, if I had lots of room, no cats, didn't care about magnetic pieces, and could get over the disappointment about the knight, I'd probably have kept the 4x set, but I don't have $60 to toss at upper meh, and that's kinda where I landed on the 4x. I wouldn't get the 3x at all. I ended up getting a nice little travel set that is magnetic and has a green and white board (I've read green is supposed to help with learning). A heck of a lot less money, and it works for me because I can carry it around easily and obsess (I'm just starting to play, and I'm really, really awful, not even through all of the lessons yet, but I do plan to get to 'plain old awful' level someday, and that will make me really happy - just an amazing game.)

Gorgeous. 10/10
Absolutely gorgeous set. Hefty weight that feels great to use. The design is elegant but easily recognizable as standard pieces. I don't know why some are complaining that the set is plastic. Yes, it's plastic. Did you expect ivory or gold? The pieces are plastic but look and feel great. Pieces are larger than a standard tournament set but fit on a board with 2.25" squares. The board is a little strange at first but it's growing on me. Most flexible boards crease so it's best to roll rather than fold, but this one can be folded without creasing. 10/10, would buy again and already have bought several as gifts (for a total of 4 so far).

These people make a great product at a fair price.
What a nice chess set. I think $50 is certainly a fair price. I would of paid closer to $80 and I wouldn't have felt bad about the deal. The pieces look and feel amazing. The pieces aren't trying to look like they're made out of some material they're not like wood or marble. Whatever they're made out of they have a quality look about them and they don't look cheap. They're also weighted very nicely. Another plus is the silicone board. Much nicer than vinyl - take my word on it. I wanted to take the time to add a review to this product again because the vender has earned it. I paid less than $50 for this set and at the time I did not realize the sweet deal this product is. After some experience ordering chess sets I now understand what a bargain this set is. You get quality chess pieces that go for $60 to$80 purchased alone. And have you priced the "VINYL" boards that comes with the set. They are $20 TO $40 when purchased alone. "WATCH THAt SHIPPING AND HANDLING", I know they're out of stock right now. I would wait and buy this set.
