Great Product - But with my Garage Door Openers it took a bit of custom work
A little more of a project for me than I was expecting. In short, I have some pretty old Challenger CH-1000 Garage door openers. They do work like all the others but perhaps more sensitive to the Eufy loop circuit required in the instructions. (Across the two terminals on the garage door opener.)In terms of compatibility testing, I shorted out the Garage Door Opener with a wire and it worked exactly how Eufy needs it to. However on install day things took a turn.In short, after testing with a multi-meter, and conferring with Eufy support, the Eufy DOES allow a trickle of current through the control loop to the garage door opener. I am guessing with other openers that is not enough current to signal an open/close event. But in my case, the challengers would trip immediately and stay tripped (so no other actions could be taken with or without the Eufy until it was disconnected.) My guess is that the internal relay in the Eufy does not completely open. The resistance goes way up, but my multimeter can still see 24V, and current when it should really not be able to.I ended up solving the problem with the attached circuit. Instead of tripping the CH-1000 directly, I have the Eufy tripping a low voltage (24V) Relay which then trips the CH-1000.OONO DPST 1NO 1NC 8Amp Power Relay Module, AC/DC 24V Control Voltagehttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B089Q7MXTR?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsBut even that was getting tripped immediately. What I did was introduce a pair of 50Watt 300 Ohm resistors in parallel with the Coil on the relay above. Those steal a bit of current - just enough to prevent the Relay from tripping right away, and enough to allow the relay to reset when the Eufy opens its own circuit (and removes most, but not all of the power.) I had the 300 Ohm resistors and went with 2 as it seemed like that was the right balance in my case. But that was trial and error, not scientifically calculated.I happened to go with these guys - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XHHC3ZZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsAnd my power source for the "add on" relay loop is the existing 24V AC Transformer used by the rest of the garage door openers for the existing legacy Multi-Code wireless opener system. Can I speak to the longevity of my solution/hack? NoSafety? No (but it is all low voltage/low amp/low watt so very minimal risk all in a junction box).In short, if your Eufy & Garage Door Opener has similar properties to mine, unless you are comfortable with electricity safety, a bit of soldering, multi-meters, perhaps go with another option.Talking to a family member who is an electrical engineer, he said that Eufy probably saved a few pennies and went with a solid state relay or similar transistor based solution rather than a mechanical relay which would not allow any current leakage. So if I had any feedback for Eufy, perhaps go down the mechanical relay road for a v2 smart opener. For me, this works, and I am always up for a project and a problem to solve. In the end, the app is wonderful (I am a big fan of other Eufy camera products - door bell, spot light, etc). And from my experience unlike other cheap "no subscription" options, Eufy devices tend to be much more stable with WiFi and pre/post upgrades. In short, they do not need to be power cycled every month to get them back online like my experience with Wyze devices.I did read that other users did not like the "horn" sound that the opener makes when opening or closing the door. The volume is adjustable in the app, and can even be disabled in the app if that is what you want. I was concerned about annoying my family with that. Turned out to be a non issue.

Perfect smart solution for young homeowners
This garage cam is a game changer — super easy to install and incredibly convenient. As someone who often forgets to close the garage in the morning, the ability to check and control it remotely has saved me so many trips back home. The 2K video is clear, the alerts are fast, and there’s no monthly fee. It’s a must-have for anyone looking to smarten up their home without hassle.

Just be aware of what it is.
To be clear, it works as advertised, but it is somewhat misleading. Would recommend, but only if you have done your research.Positives;1. Installation was easy, and should be compatible with almost any garage door opener. Just follow the directions, and video. It might take a few tries to sync everything via the app.2. Doesn’t require the Eufy Home Base, and works independently of the Eufy gateway.3. Camera works great and provides fair coverage of the garage door opening.4. Allows you to control your garage from anywhere via the Eufy app.Downsides;1. It doesn’t integrate with any 3rd party home automation apps. Only works with the Eufy app. It does not currently integrate with either Apple or Google Home apps, even though they put Apple and Google pictures on the box - this is noted clearly in documentation and on website.2. Ironically, the camera motion alerts are aggressive because it works really well, so we just disabled camera alerts - it’s a garage and people will be there to use the cars.3. The garage status (Open/Closed) is delayed, and it seems to take awhile for the system to detect a change occurred. Often we get both a open and closed notification together due to the delay.4. Like others have said, it is hard to make the installation look professional due to all the wires involved.

Dropping to 1 star. Unreliable. Slow. The only convenience is not having to use cloud services
Update: If ZERO stars were selectable, this garbage would get that rating. Removed, reset, and reinstalled, and apparently common home construction methods prevent this pile of time wasted from functioning in any meaningful fashion as either a garage door opener, or a security camera device. This device, as well as pretty much all eufy devices really under perform. They disconnect from Wi-Fi, and often take several minutes re establish a connection thru the app. Alerts are ridiculous as the video often cannot play, due to the cameras disconnecting. Is this really that hard to figure out?The only real convenience is you do not have to rely upon a cloud service, well that's an issue with goofy eufy as well. But is it really useful if you can't get close to real time connectivity, even inside your own home? With business class Wi-Fi? No, eufy is a cheap garbage implementation of good ideas. In this case, the garage open/close feature is pretty much only good for a single operation. Open the door thru the app, close your phone UI, unlock phone, oh look. Can't connect to the device, with barely 2 minutes passing. Overpriced garbage.
