Over the years JBL has proven to be my favorite and best performing Bluetooth speakers. I use the JBL Flip for golfing. The first one I bought about 10 years ago eventually needed to be replaced after using and abusing it for years. I replaced it with this water proof model that is slightly smaller but actually sounds even better. The battery holds a charge for a long time as a matter of fact I take this out for 18 hole rounds and only charge it every so often because I think I should. It has never run out of juice on the course. These are great speakers, simple to us and very affordable.

I’ve always wanted a jbl speaker and since buying a home with a patio I knew it was time to buy one for upcoming beer and relaxation times. Comes in a reuseable magnetic latch box with cushion which is a great case to tote in. Has great instructions and shows you that you can download and app that allows you to connect to upto 100 other jbl devices in party mode. Also has a speaker mode that in the app shows the color of each speaker, this setting lets you define left and right speakers. After some charging I turned it on and man I was shocked at the sound quality and the bass. I turned my volume all the way up to test it out and I got no cracking or bad feed back in the sound. It stayed nice and crisp. I don’t run my volume at high anyways so I know the sound will be fine. I haven’t had a chance to test the battery life but it’s all dependent on how loud you run the music, the instructions give you a time frame on that and looks like I’m around the 6-8 hour mark on a single charge. Very pleased with the purchase and it was on sale.

This was a lot better sounding than the other bluetooth speakers I bought. I am still not satisfied with the sound. It doesn't have amazing bass, but it is not lacking the bass frequency. The bass just distorts or is muddy sounding at times. The mids and treble are good, but I'm not expecting stellar quality from something this price. They can distort too at louder volumes.My main use for this is outside. I need a speaker to jump rope to and my Ipad Pro--though loud enough for indoor use--wasn't really cutting it for outdoor use. Couple in the factors of a windy day, or cars driving down the road or my driveway, I needed something loud enough to compete with those things. This does a great job as far as loudness goes.This is heavier than I thought, but I don't care about weight for my use of it. It has a strap which helps me a lot to move it while hands are full.Perhaps I'm too harsh, but I like audio and have some nice headphones and have had a few good sound systems that may have cost more than a car... but anyhow, I'm setting expectations of this to that level. I think this is going to be a solid buy for most people.Edit: I returned this and purchased the Sony SRSXB30. I bought the Sony in blue as well, not because I like the color more, but because the price has been consistently in the low $70s. At that price, the Flip 4 can't compete. I'm not sure the JBL Charge 3/4 was even on the same level of sound quality. I liked the SRSXB30 so much I bought another and now I have what I'm looking for, stereo sound from bluetooth speakers for about $140.

Great little blue tooth speaker. If expecting a full spectrum of sound with deep thick base, this fellow will let you down. But if looking for something that communicate the music, or Whatever it is you choose to enjoy, clearly and cleanly, this little guy is awesome! Indoors, the sound quality definitely improves due to less ambient noise and open space to absorb the low end. The lows hit harder and the overall sound comes to life. Outdoors, you definitely hear a difference but the quality is still excellent. Especially for the size. If you set the speaker against or a short distance from a wall or flat surface (big or small) while outside, you significantly improve the thickness of the sound and it really helps to project the sound even further. Over all, I really enjoy the JBL Flip 4. Only regret is not buying the case/speaker combo. Really want one of those cases. :)I highly recommend If looking for something small, light, portable, easy to connect, great battery life, and great sound qualifty for the price... hells ya!
