Tascam Professional CD Recorder/Player (CDRW900SX)

Back in the 70's, during my military days, I was the proud owner of a reel-to-reel tape deck made by Teac (that's Tee-ack, not Teek, as some people pronounced it) That tape deck was built like a tank; heavy, solid, and it performed like the champ it was. When I found out that Tascam, the professional arm of Teac, offered a CD recorder that was a cut above the standard consumer models, I jumped at the chance to buy one. I'm so glad I did! This recorder did not disappoint! This machine is extremely easy to use, makes awesome recordings, and is packed with features that make it more appealing to the casual user, as well as the professional . It can record not only on the more expensive music CD-R and CD-RW blanks, but also on the less expensive CD-R and CD-RW discs intended for use on computers. There's no difference in quality. It features the usual analog inputs and outputs, as well as both coaxial and optical digital connections. I recommend the use of the coaxial connections, although both work well. The recorder also allows you to add CD Text to the discs you record, so you can get readouts on players that support the feature, of the title and artist of each song, title of the disc, etc. No outboard keyboard needed, although you can use one if you choose. I'm a very happy camper with this recorder. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny you'll spend for it. The owner manual is easy to understand. If you don't need the rack mounts on it, they can be removed. I think you'll be as happy with this CD recorder as I am.

I'm just now posting my review because I just started using it recently. Wow, this unit is so cool. If you're tinkering around with recording your own song, vinyl records or cassettes to CD format, or if you already have a studio, this unit will help you expand.

It did what I needed it to do.

I've had the Tascam for a week and tried it out just once. I connected the Tascam easily in the place of my previous recorder/player. Right out of the box, I recorded music from my computer and added voice to the recording. It was almost too easy. I am an amateur but have a feeling I'll soon be making (semi-)professional CD recordings.

The first thing is the great amount of settings & options of recording cd’s let alone the pristine playback options. I personally prefer the analog input option for recording vinyl albums to cd’s. This Tascam product is professional perfection for me. This machine Rocks!

it a great cd recorder , a burner a pro or a beginner can use. it work well, no issues with it.

This is the second Tascam I have purchased. The other lasted seven years. This was a replacement. I gave it as a gift so it was past 30 days before it was used and there have been nothing but issues. The Cd's skip on certain ones, they say disc error, goes from 18 tracks down to one. I have used over 30 cd's on this unit trying to get clean recordings. I contacted Tascam and they had me send it to Tap Electronics. I have now sent it twice and it has still not been repaired. They will not refund or replace it. They have my unit and are now waiting on a backordered part from Japan.

Great product for a great price except it just does not come with Australian voltage. You need an American transformer adapter is also sent by Australia Post who I do not recommend. They did not even leave me a card to say that my item was at the post office, not having a car, it was hard to get home
