Great design and performance (it's a Sangean)
Just like other Sangean radios, this Sangean waterproof shower radio was no disappointment. The design of this radio is great. The reception is better than some of my other portable radios. The large speaker provides a rich, clear sound. The use of 2 D-cells provides both substantial volume and long battery life. The layout of the controls and use of the controls all makes good sense. The setup instructions were clear and easy to follow.A sleep timer will play the radio for up to 60 minutes before auto shutoff. A nap timer can be set for up to 120 minutes. When that time expires, a tone will gently wake you. The tone starts at a low volume level and gradually increases until you press a button (or 3 minutes have expired, whichever comes first).Because this was designed as a shower radio, the FM antenna is a wire that hangs out of the bottom of the radio (but can be stored in a storage compartment). Since this radio is waterproof, I intend to use it outdoors like on picnics where I might encounter rain showers.I didn't realize exactly how large it was until I opened the box. Please see the photo which shows it next to a Sony portable radio powered by a 9-volt battery.

Durable and effective shower radio
I purchased this shower radio over a year ago (February of 2023, and it is now March of 2024). I use it daily, as does my wife. The batteries last a long time, needing changed rarely. The unit has dropped from a height of about 4 feet several times and still works like new. It picks up FM stations somewhat far with clarity, as well as multiple weather stations. It does not produce symphonic sound, but that is not why I purchased it. The sound quality is not bad, and I am pleased with the purchase. I would buy the product again if need be, or perhaps I will for my kids' bathroom at some point.

Very durable and worth the price!
This shower radio is much heavier than I expected, but the hook base that comes with it has stayed in place firmly since purchase (many months). I like the digital tuning and volume, making keeping the signal easy. I'm also impressed that it doesn't drain the batteries as fast as other shower radios I've used. Well worth investing more in a better quality product! I've never used the weather radio, so can't speak to that feature.

A Very Good Shower Radio
I had a Sony Shower Tunes (?) radio for a ridiculous amount of time - like 20+ years. Worked good, display easy to see, light battery use. Finally it gave up, and I wanted a replacement - the Sangean seemed to be the best option.Good: Well-made, actually a tad better sound and reception over the Sony, and seems very sturdy. Easy to set everything. Not so good: Display is hard to see due to way it hangs on shower head arm (versus how the Sony hung). Not terrible but numbers (time or station ID) are thin versus the bolder LCD numbers on the Sony. This unit cost something like 3x-4x what the Sony unit cost back in late 1990’s. I expect it will last a long time. It fills a void for me but nothing that blows my skirt up.

Fantastic, High Quality Radio
I have bought many things over the year that I probably didn't really need or use. I have to say I absolutely love this thing, and might be a second for my other bathroom. It's my first Sangean radio, and have to say i'm impressed with this brand. Some comments:Pros:1. Really solid build quality. This device is larger than I expected and quite heavy. Plastic housing is thick and seems to be of high quality.2. Excellent sound quality - very full, clear and well-rounded for a single, moderately sized speaker. Not tinny at all.I have my volume on "20" while I'm taking a shower, and it's plenty loud.3. Uses the large "D" cell batteries (2), which at first seems a but off-putting, but they seem to last a long time.4. Buttons are of perfect size and tactile feel; easy to operate.5. Display is clear and shows the clock (when off) and battery life remaining.6. Extendable wire antenna - I live in a city and find it gets my stations clearly without having to extend it, but your experience may differ.7. It looks nice. Has rubber feet so it can sit with no problem on your sink or tub, or you can hang it in your shower with the included strap.Cons:1. The WX Alert button's operation is awkward. It's easily pressed by accident, and to get back to the station you were listening to, you have to press it a second time, press the power button to turn the radio back on, and press the Band button to cycle back to where your preset is. The WX Button and Power button are the same size and both on the front of the radio.2. Rechargeable batteries would be nice - but minor gripe.3. Don't like having to pay extra for an AC to DC power brick.

Radio
I could swing the price I think it was worth that more or less it's a nice radio it works great on a little hook out on my back patio or I don't have to worry any longer about it getting wet (must use batteries not AC plug if you're going to be outdoors)

Buy this one, not the SG-100
I have an older Sangean Waterproof Radio and the buttons sometimes do things they shouldn't, so I wanted to replace it. I saw the SG-100 and the cheaper H205. They look identical and after studying the specs, they were identical except the SG-100 said it was about 1 inch wide and the H205 was over 3 inches. I decided to buy the more expensive SG-100 for the slimmer profile. When it arrived, I was kind of not surprised that it wasn't slimmer at all and was the same 3 inches as this one. I then bought the H205 and compared the two. They are identical, even running the same software version P01. Not only that, the cheaper H205 was manufactured in 2024 and the more expensive SG-100 in 2021. This is a no brainer...buy the cheaper, newer H205. Sound quality is fine for what I use it for...listening to news and sports in the bathroom.
