We purchased this controller with the streaming camera system for our church, and we have been using it for nearly two years now without a single issue. Compared to a different controller we use at our other location—which requires pressing a whole series of buttons just to switch cameras—this one lets us switch between cameras with a single dedicated button press. Programming the presets is incredibly easy, and having dedicated buttons to instantly adjust pan, tilt, and zoom speeds is a game changer. The joystick feels like excellent quality, and the resulting camera movements are perfectly smooth at every speed I've tested. My only minor note is that we haven't been able to get a live preview to show up on the 5" display screen, but otherwise, the controller works flawlessly. It has made running our weekly streams a breeze. Strongly recommend!

We recently moved from manned cameras to PTZ cameras. At first I wanted to try out a system that was not high end to save money in the event we did not like the new workflow. This way we don't invest big buck in something that doesn't fit our needs. We purchased 3 AVKANS cameras and the controller. I watched videos on connecting the controller via IP and thought it I had it figured out. I still had issues but it was not a fault of the hardware...it was a fault of my brain. I didn't understand the networking and how that all worked. Once my IT team explained it all everything worked fine. The one thing that didn't seem to work correctly was identifying the IP addresses for the camera. They appear in the AVKANS network app but not on the controller. Turns out a firmware update is coming that allows the cameras to talk via IP to the controller better. The controller works great. The buttons are a bit mushy but everything works like we expect it to. The ability to override auto controls is very welcomed in the work we are doing. We were having some issues with the auto tracking not working correctly in the cameras when activated via the controller. I contacted support and they remoted in to evaluate. Turns out the auto tracking is a new feature and not well documented online. To make auto tracking work you set preset 0 to the wide shot in case it loses you. Preset 1 frames the shot for auto tracking. I was doing this but sometimes it didn't work right. Support told me presets 7-9 are reserved for auto tracking as well as 11-14. So if you have auto tracking cameras avoid these presets. It is new enough of a feature it is not well documented yet in support videos and manuals. We are very happy with our setup and looking forward to exploring how to use it to make our programs more engaging to our viewers.

Great product. The only downside of this product is that the screen is small but it still very usable.

Great product as it works flawlessly PTZ cameras and especially with the Avkans PTZ cameras! Highly recommend for my clients and will continue to use going forward !

I've only been using this device (PowerJoy with NDI) for a couple of months, but so far, it has exceeded my expectations and has been great! I previously had the Hsility PTZ controller. With the AVKANS PowerJoy, it is much easier/quicker, with few buttons to press, to switch between cameras and access and call on pre-saved camera positions, which are criticla in a live production. Also, the auto exposure, auto white balance, auto focus features are great -- and the ability to adjust zoom speed (in addition to pan/tilt speed), is a great feature that was unavailable for the Minrray UV510a PTZ cameras on the Hsility controller. That is a huge plus for me! The LCD display is great as well. Although my cameras are NDI-enabled, and although I use NDI in my productions, I was unable to get the NDI preview to work properly with my cameras with this controller. That was not a big deal though because I'm using Visca Over IP to control the cameras and RTSP for the previews from the cameras into this controller. Great job, AVKANS! Great value and great features, with a great layout and buttons/access on the device -- plus a convenient web interface as well.

Review! I recently bought a Avkan's 20X HDMI PTZ camera and a Joy stick controller from Amazon for our church's livestream. This was my first experience with PTZ cameras and controller. I was surprised by the excellent quality of the picture from the camera and by how well the controller was thought out and constructed. I had to use there online tutorials to install them correctly and I got them up and running with only a little difficulty. I did have a problem setting up my presets and couldn't figure it out so I emailed Avkans for help and they were very helpful in getting me the right information in a very timely manner. Found out it was something I overlooked in the setup. Great company, good equipment and excellent technical support. Thank you

The AVKANS Super PTZ Camera Joystick Controller is perfect for video production and livestreaming applications. The first two things that really impressed me is variable speed zoom and control protocol switched by camera and not by mode. That allows the controllor to switch protocols as you switch cameras! The variable speed zoom is great. This is the first PTZ camera controllor that I have found that has these features at this price point. The controls are layed out very nice and light up and that is great when the House lights are turned off. I tested the controllors differant contol protocols to see if any of them have limited control. Any Visca RS232, RS422 or Visca over IP configuration has full control. Some controls like shutter and iris do not work with RS485 Pelco P/D protocols but auto focus and auto white balance do work. Another feature that I like is the six configurable camera buttons. I like being able to switch camers with the touch of one button. If you have more than six cameras, you inter the camera number and press the CAM button. The backlit digital readout is very easy to read and shows camera name, address and port number plus control protocol. If you are using control over IP, you will also see the IP address. You can change the camera name to anything you want. Finding cameras on your network is very simple with the press of the search button. This controllor is compact and dose not take up much space. The controllor can be powered by the included power supply or by POE through a Cat5 cable. Camera presets are easy to set or reset and can be used by pressing the number and the CALL button. This is the best PTZ camera controllor I have used and I am very impressed.

I have four Avkans cameras and thought that a controller made by the same company would be a good replacement for my existing, cheaper controller, but no. The control of the cameras is sluggish and latent, and the camera continues to pan for a moment after you release the stick. It feels “mushy”. When zooming, about 25% of the time, the camera continues to zoom after the control is released. The buttons are also often non-responsive and you often have to push them several times to get them to respond. Overall not great.
