This lock did not fit securly to my Tesla J1772 adapter. It was just as easy to remove the charging cable with it as it was without it. Really disapointed with this because I to make it more difficult for someone to remove the cable from my vehicle when its charging.

Bought this for a road trip where I'd be charging at hotels with J1772s. Half way into the trip I've charged at one hotel and this lock didn't really work at that hotel. It could slide over the adapter and everything plugged in and charged, but the lock piece of the plug was tapered so someone could still come along and disengage it. It wasn't possible to remove the plug from the adapter - which is nice - but it would allow you to stop charging, which could still be a major inconvenience for someone who expects to return to their car with enough charge to continue their trip. I will report back with experiences at other chargers.8 months later update: I can now say that this lock has worked on the majority of J1772s I have encountered. Well worth the peace of mind you get when charging.

I have seen some negative reviews about the lock not fitting properly. That's probably because people didn't read carefully before buying. The seller has clearly listed to the series of adapter that's compatible with this lock. I did the due diligence and checked the serial number. The series matched so I ordered it and it's a perfect fit. There have been a couple of instances where people unplugged the charger from my car and plugged it into their car so I wanted to avoid that situation in future. This lock works well with both my 2020 MX and 2023 MY. I would recommend it.

Imagine you are charging your car at a charge point station and you come back to realize someone unplugged your car for no reason. Did sentry mode pick it up? Of course not, that would be too convenient.If this happens to you, this product definitely helps prevent it. I have a 2020 Tesla model 3 and this product functions as intended. It fits well, is not expensive and the plastic does not appear to be cheap.Here’s why I cannot give it 5 stars, I noticed the product doesn’t fit the same the first time I used it. While it still fits, it doesn’t fit as well.MOST IMPORTANTLY: it’s not convenient for me. The lock works so well to detach the charger from my car, I have to open the charge port on my console or app. This releases the charging cable. Normally just walking up to the car is enough to make this happen, for some reason when I use this device, it doesn’t work (not sure why or if it’s even related to the device itself).So get it if you need it, I stopped using it most the time. I only use it if I’m not familiar with the area.

Best way to protect the port . jerks then go buy unplugged the charger when this is on youre worry is gone

I cannot use it. When I connect it to the plug it won’t go inside all the way and I get an error on the Tesla app says “ the charger is not connected properly”.
