Takane Quartz Clock Movement Mechanism, Choose Your Hands and Size, USA Made (7/16" Threaded Shaft for dials up to 1/4" Thick, H Hands with Black Second Hand)

I have a kitchen wall clock bought for me by my mother many years ago. I've never seen another one I like so much, but every few years, it stops keeping good time. That's probably because I have made the fatal error of moving the hands themselves, rather than turning the wheel on the back. Doing it the wrong way strips the gears.Installing this replacement movement and hands took only a few minutes. Unlike my previous movement, this includes a second hand. This isn't especially needed for a kitchen clock, but it works fine. You can hear a ticking sound if you are very close to the clock, but once I hung it above the pantry, I don't notice it at all.After a few days, my revived clock is keeping perfect time. So, if you have a clockface that you particularly like, be sure to investigate easy repair options before replacing it with something you like less.

The movement works perfectly, but be aware that the minute hand connection is not circular. Apparently, there are two types of hands, and as I was replacing a Takane movement, this worked great even though their description didn't mention that it wasn't round. Be aware of what you're replacing - there are many videos explaining this on the web.

The instructions were very good and made putting the clock together easy. It keeps perfect time. My only complaints are that the hands are a little longer than my old ones. Also, the second hand fell off after a month. I pressed it back on very firmly, and it hasn't happened again in a month, so hope that took care of the problem.

It took us a couple of tries (due to our own user error) to find a movement that fit our clock. This one was a perfect fit.What I really liked about it, compared to some of the others we tried, is that the clock hands were packed in sturdy cardboard for shipping. That kept them from getting bent during transit.It was easy to install, and in the month that we've had it, it's kept good time.

The clock mechanism in a lovely table clock we bought many years ago stopped working. I replaced it with this unit and it now functions just like new!!Note - the hands that come with it are very long. Fortunately you can snip them to the size you need.

I bought one of these a few months ago because it was made in USA. Unfortunately it did not keep time. I thought maybe I just got a bad one so I ordered another, and installed it a few days ago. This evening I noticed that the clock was a half hour late. Still running, but 30 minutes late. I have several clocks with quartz movements, and this is the only movement I've ever had a problem with. So much for "Made in USA". I would not have another one of these if you gave it to me. My advice - buy something else.

I was able to replace a clock part that my dad built in 1990. This clock fot with a some modification to the outside frame. Works greated.

Did not work. Sent back for replacement.
