This means less total dissolved solids (TDS) in your water. The unit includes two carbon chambers, ensuring the tap water is treated properly before going to the membrane. The first chamber can also accept an optional KDF85 Chloramine cartridge, so if you have Chloramines in your water there is no need for an additional system. I have hundreds of rare tropical plants growing in my house and my city water just wasn't cutting it. Since buying this filter, I no longer have the yellowing leaves caused but the unwanted minerals that come in municipal water. I used to buy distilled water for plants and for my humidifiers, but that is no longer necessary. This system was so easy to setup and having two of the reverse osmosis filters included is genius. Making water is so fast, and my TDOMS meter shows a post filter value of 1 which is fantastic. I can make 5 gallons of filtered water in about 30 minutes, thanks to it being setup with the two RO membranes. I ran mine for about 4-5 hours and had no issues. I love this because you can control the waste flow which increases or decreases pressure helping to increase filtered water dispensing time. Alone, it took about 30-37 minutes tops to fill a five gallon bucket. When I paired it with the 100gpd RODI system I already had, it would take 22 minutes to fill the 5 gallon bucket.
