I have a sensitive stomach and cannot eat any hot spices, hot pepper, etc, but I wanted to try this spice mix because I make a veg stew for cous cous, and I wanted to spice it up a bit. So, I looked at all the ingredients of the other brands and chose this one because it only had black pepper added. It had no red pepper or Cayenne. I chose the right one. I used it sparingly in my stew, but still got a lot of flavor and not a hint of pepper or any hot spice. Very mild and very delicious. Very fresh too.

New and interesting spice to add yo my spice routine.

I had never heard of ras el hanout until I wanted to make a recipe that called for it. After some searching, I discovered that different recipes exist with varying proportions of the same ingredients: cumin, ginger, salt, cinnamon, ground coriander, cayenne, allspice, and cloves. Sometimes you see nutmeg, turmeric, and cardamon added. Although I had most of the spices in my cupboard, I wasn't sure which recipe would work best, so I decided to go with this pre-mixed version instead. I was disappointed that this The Spice Way blend doesn't contain any cayenne. Still, the flavor it lends is complex, even without the cayenne. Next time, though, I will add cayenne separately, just because every recipe I found for ras el hanout contains it.I like that it comes in a resealable bag to preserve freshness. I love the flavor and will seek out more recipes that contain this particular spice blend.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

This spice blend was scrumptious! Great depth of flavor and very fresh.

I use this Ras El Hanout from Spice Way all the time with my Moroccan chicken dish. I recently picked up another brand that was in the store (Sadaf) and I actually like this company’s version better. This one is more cinnamon and coriander forward, while Sadaf is more cumin forward. I love cumin, but find it takes away from the true depth of the spice and takes over. So I am back here buying more and will be buying The Spice Way from now on. Hope that helps folks in making a decision!

Product was packaged and sealed well. The aromatics when you open the pouch are wonderful but cooking with it is even better. Delicious flavor and your going to want to purchase again.

I am very pleased with this Ras El Hanout. Fresh, delicious and fragrant. My spice arrived in perfect condition, the bag was well sealed and absolutely no leaking took place. I have already transferred it to a glass jar. I would purchase this again.
