I use these in a looped water-cooling system where I have to break the lines occasionally without introducing air (thus avoiding re-priming the system). They are easy enough to take apart and reattach, especially if a little bit of grease is applied (in my case food-safe). They close with a nice audible click to confirm a lock. I have experienced minimal to no air infiltration even when disassembled for an extended period. They are a bit pricey, but are worth it since they are a perfect solution for my application. They are built tough, so should last a long time. I assume the o-ring inside is replaceable, but I hope to never have to find out.

Absolutely horrible for fuel line quick releases on a motorcycle. Stopped the flow of fuel and left me stranded. And they fall apart easily when removing.

I loved it so much, I bought a second set. I use these primarily for my Autopot hydroponic system. These disconnect right at the main reservoir hose, so I can easily wash the vessel out, mix a new batch, and then after I verify all my important stuff, I hook it back up to let the flow continue. A+

These were more expensive than I wanted to pay but they are exactly what I needed to connect my cooling system to my brewing fermenter. Coolant flows to and from the chiller to a coil inside the tank. The tubing connects to the coil with push on barb connectors. Long story short, everytime I needed to disconnect the fermenter for cleaning, etc. I ended up having to cut the tubing as the tubing simply would not release from the barbs. Now I can disconnect both lines easily and without having coolant leak out all over the floor (these connectors seal when disconnected). I reversed the male/female polarity between the intake and discharge so I now can't mix up in versus out from the pump.

Our quick connect linking the water bath to our reactor broke. I ordered a replacement from the manufacturer but the delivery time was 2-3 weeks. I found this product on Amazon and decided to order it since it could be available in a couple of days. I fully expected this product would not work as well as the connector that had broken but figured at least it would keep us operational while we waited for the replacement parts. When the replacement parts finally arrived, my chemist told me that the existing parts were working perfectly fine, were easy to use and that he wanted to keep using them as long as they lasted.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Works very well for plastic.

Don't bother. The construction is poor. It leaks. It will not stay coupled with the slightest stress and a poor design
